An information distribution system includes an electronic device; and a server system including at least one information distribution apparatus that communicates with the electronic device via a network. The electronic device includes an information requester configured to transmit, to the server system, a request to distribute information, the request being transmitted together with identification information of the electronic device; and an information displayer configured to display, on a display device, the information transmitted from the server system. The server system includes a contract information acquirer configured to acquire contract information relating to a contract for a service provided to the electronic device; an information generator configured to identify the contract information of the electronic device based on the identification information, and generate the information according to the contract information; and an information distributor configured to distribute the information generated by the information generator, to the electronic device.

Information distribution system and electronic device

A remote management system includes imaging apparatuses and a central managing apparatus configured to manage the imaging apparatuses. The imaging apparatuses and the central managing apparatus are connected to mutually communicate with each other. The respective imaging apparatuses notify the central managing apparatus of one or more counter values of one or more users, one of the counter values corresponds to a number of images processed by corresponding one of the users by using one of the imaging apparatuses. The central managing apparatus determines a fee to be charged to one of the users according to a total counter value of the one of the users. The total counter value is a sum of the counter values of the one of the users notified by the imaging apparatuses.

An electronic device includes a control information storing unit; a setting unit configured to request a user to specify, for each first program in the electronic device, a reception setting indicating whether to allow reception of a second program to be applied to the first program and to store the reception setting as control information for the first program in the control information storing unit, the second program being configured to insert a process in a process of the first program; a reception determining unit configured to determine whether to allow reception of the second program based on the control information for the first program; and a receiving unit configured to receive or refuse to receive the second program according to the determination result of the reception determining unit.

Electronic device, information processing method, and storage medium

A disclosed electronic device for performing a process in accordance with contents of a removable storage medium includes: a storing unit obtaining verification data for verifying validity of the contents of the storage medium before shifting to a power supply state in which detection of installation and removal of the storage medium is disabled and storing the verification data in a storage unit as saving verification data; and a verification unit comparing, when the detection of the installation and removal of the storage medium is enabled, newly obtained verification data with the saving verification data read from the storage unit so as to verify the validity of the contents of the storage medium.
