An ordered liquid crystalline phase cleansing composition is disclosed that contains particles with a structure comprising a benefit agent and a gellation agent and provides high foaming with in a preferred embodiment levels of free emollient equal to or in excess of the level of surfactant. A method of depositing a benefit agent to the skin or hair with the ordered liquid crystalline phase cleansing composition is also disclosed.

Ordered liquid crystalline cleansing composition with benefit agent particles

An aqueous isotropic liquid cleansing and moisturizing composition is provided having a surfactant; a thickening agent, and organogel particles with a structure comprising a benefit agent and a gellation agent. In a preferred embodiment the inventive cleansing composition includes a free emollient having a weight average emollient particle size in the range about 1 to about 500 microns.

The invention relates to use of polydextrose in combination with sucrose to induce biphasic liquid formation. Salt may be optionally used.
