A fire suppression system has a plurality of tank units () each having: a tank body having a first port and an interior for storing at least one of fire suppressant and driver gas; a discharge assembly mounted to the first port and comprising: a discharge valve (); and a first monitoring switch or sensor (). A first monitoring unit () is coupled to the first monitoring switch or sensor of each said tank unit and configured to communicate with a remote monitoring location. For each of the tank units there is: a second monitoring switch or sensor (); and a second monitoring unit () coupled to said second monitoring switch or sensor and configured to communicate with the remote monitoring location.

An integrated fire suppression system includes a plurality of fire detection systems. Each of the fire detection systems is individually addressable. A control system is communicatively coupled to each of the fire detection systems. A plurality of building systems is communicatively connected to the control system. The plurality of building systems includes at least one of a fire suppression system, an alarm system, a heating ventilation and cooling (HVAC) system, a building power supply system, and a building security system. The control system is configured to provide a localized response to a fire detection by at least one fire detection system in the plurality of fire detection systems, the localized response being a response in at least one of the plurality of building systems.

Provided are embodiments for a system for designing a layout for a smoke detection system, the system include a storage medium, the storage medium being coupled to a computing engine. The computing engine is configured to receive one or more inputs, model transport and dispersion of smoke in an environment based on the one or more inputs, wherein the model is based on a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) function, and detect the smoke using a plurality of probes. The computing engine is also configured to define a layout of the smoke detectors based on the smoke detectors being able to detect the smoke in the environment, and provide a map of the smoke detectors for the layout. Also provided are embodiments for a method to design a layout for a smoke detection system.

Provided are embodiments for a system for validating a smoke detection layout, where the system includes a memory and a processor. The processor is configured to receive one or more inputs, model transport and dispersion of smoke to a smoke detector of an environment based on the one or more inputs, wherein the model is based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) function, and select a subset of input parameters from the one or more inputs to test. The processor is also configured to test the smoke detection system layout using the selected subset of input parameters, determine an alarm time probability using uncertainty quantifications for the selected subset of input parameters, and provide the alarm time probability and confidence level for the selected subset parameters. Also provided are embodiments for a method to validate a smoke detection system layout.

A fuel injection system for a gas turbine engine includes a fuel delivery conduit, a nozzle block with a nozzle aperture, and a cavity block with a cavity. The nozzle aperture has a first cross sectional area, and injects fuel received from the fuel delivery conduit into the cavity. An exemplary fire suppression system includes a sprinkler nozzle. At least one conduit is connected to the nozzle for delivering a fire suppression fluid to the nozzle. The conduit and the nozzle establish a discharge path. A pneumatically driven pump is connected with the conduit for pumping fluid into the conduit. A gas source provides pressurized gas to the pump for driving the pump. The gas source also provides gas to the discharge path for achieving a desired discharge of the fluid from the nozzle. A controller selectively controls at least one of (i) the gas provided to the pump, which controls the fluid pressure in the conduit, or (ii) the gas provided to the nozzle or the conduit, which controls the gas pressure delivered to the nozzle.

The system includes a flow distribution network having a first pipe interconnected with a second pipe at a flow splitting tee. A liquid flow redistribution device is disposed in the first pipe upstream with respect to fluid flow of the flow splitting tee.

A nozzle for a fire suppression system has a bonnet and a deflector base. An inlet port extends through the bonnet along the axis of symmetry of the bonnet. The inlet port receives an outlet end of a fire suppression delivery pipe to mount the bonnet to the pipe. The bonnet has a frustoconical surface which extends radially outward and downward from the inlet port. The deflector base is secured to and co-axially aligned with the bonnet at a predetermined distance to create a flow passageway therebetween. The flow passageway imparts a down angle to a suppressant flow discharging from the nozzle to better disperse the suppressant within the fire zone. A discharge port at the circumferential edge of the bonnet and deflector base constricts the suppressant flow to atomize the droplets of liquid suppressant discharged into the fire zone.
