Binders for aqueous corrosion protection systems, comprising products A&prime;ABC of reaction of epoxy resins, fatty acids, and amines, having a number average molar mass M of at least 5000 g/mol, obtained by reacting epoxide compounds A&prime; containing at least two epoxide groups per molecule and reaction products ABC of epoxide compounds A, fatty acids B, and amines C, wherein, where appropriate, the epoxide compounds A&prime; and/or the epoxide compounds A have been modified prior to further reaction, in whole or in part, by reaction with compounds D containing at least one acid group or hydroxyl group reactive toward epoxide groups, and wherein, where appropriate, the amines C have been modified prior to further reaction, in whole or in part, by reaction with aliphatic or aromatic monoepoxide compounds A&Prime; or mixtures thereof.

Product A'ABC of epoxy resins A' and product of polyepoxides A, fatty acids B and amines C

Water-dilutable, cationically stabilized epoxy resins ZYX are obtained by reacting, in the first stage, aromatic or aliphatic epoxide compounds Z with aliphatic amines Y to form epoxy-amine adducts ZY which are neutralized and then in aqueous dispersion are reacted in a second stage with a further epoxy resin X. The resins ZYX may be formulated without additional curatives to give aqueous coating materials which exhibit a good corrosion protection effect.

Aqueous binders based on epoxy resins

Aqueous binders comprising organic bismuth compounds and reaction products, having a number-average molar mass M of at least 5000 g/mol, of epoxy resins, optionally fatty acids and amines are obtained by reacting epoxide compounds containing at least two epoxide groups per molecule and reaction products of epoxide compounds, optionally fatty acids and amines, and are suitable as binders for aqueous systems for corrosion protection.

Water-dilutable polyvinylbutyral dispersions obtainable by a two-stage reaction in the first stage of which at least one tertiary alkanolamine A and at least one diisocyanate B are reacted to the theoretically calculated NCO content and the amounts of components A and B are chosen such that the amount of substance of the diisocyanates B is from 0.8 to 1.3 times the amount of substance of the reactive hydroxyl groups in A and thereafter in the second stage a polyvinylbutyral C dissolved in a solvent which is inert towards isocyanates is reacted with the adduct AB from the first step to form the product ABC until all of the isocyanate groups have undergone complete reaction, the number of hydroxyl groups in C being at least ten times the number of isocyanate groups in the reaction product AB.

Aqueous anticorrosion primers based on polyvinylbutyral

The invention is concerned with stabilized metal pigments, in particular aluminum pigments, particularly against water and moisture, with improved resistance characteristics in aqueous paints. The stabilization of the metal particles is carried out through treatment with carboxyalkylene phosphoric acid esters, and/or carboxyalkylene phosphonic acids, and/or carboxyalkylene phosphinic acids. The carboxylic group of the compounds can be at least partially neutralized if desired.
