An apparatus including a first housing and a pulse inverter, wherein the pulse inverter is arranged in the first housing, and includes first high-voltage components. The first housing includes a first coolant chamber and a second coolant chamber. The second coolant chamber is fluidically isolated from the first coolant chamber. The first coolant chamber includes a first coolant. The first coolant is a dielectric coolant. The first high-voltage components are arranged in the first coolant chamber. The first housing includes a first coolant port and a second coolant port. The first coolant port is in fluid communication with the second coolant port via the second coolant chamber in order to allow a fluid flow of a second coolant from the first coolant port via the second coolant chamber to the second coolant port.

Apparatus having a pulse inverter

A pulse inverter includes a pulse inverter housing, in which at least one power electronics is provided, wherein at least the pulse inverter housing is configured to be cooled by a flowing coolant through housing means. The power electronics includes at least one controller, a gate driver, and a semiconductor element. For switching a semiconductor element, the gate driver provides a turn-on voltage UGS and a turn-off voltage Uand is actuatable by the controller for this purpose. The controller includes control means, via which a withstand voltage UR<UGS is adjustable, whereby a power dissipation PV can be generated, causing the power electronics and/or the coolant to heat up.

A power semiconductor module includes a first and second insulating substrate, which is arranged parallel to and at a distance from the first insulating substrate. The first insulating substrate and the second insulating substrate each include an insulating layer, an inner metallization layer, and an outer metallization layer. The power semiconductor module also includes a first cooling device, which is arranged thermally conductively on the outer metallization layer of the first insulating substrate, a second cooling device, which is arranged thermally conductively on the outer metallization layer of the second insulating substrate. The power semiconductor module also includes a power semiconductor, arranged between the first insulating substrate and the second insulating substrate. At least one of the two insulating substrates include a through-contact, by which the inner metallization layer of the corresponding insulating substrate is electrically connected to the outer metallization layer of the corresponding insulating substrate.

A drive system for an electric vehicle includes: drive components, including: a traction battery; an inverter; and an electric machine. The traction battery is electrically connected to the electric machine by the inverter. The traction battery is electrically connected to the inverter and the inverter is electrically connected to the electric machine in each case by high-voltage connecting elements. The drive system has a cooling circuit cools the drive components by a cooling medium. The drive components and the high-voltage connecting elements are each formed so as to convey cooling medium and form a part of the cooling circuit.
