A driver assistance system of a motor vehicle includes a lighting system of the motor vehicle, having an illumination unit that illuminates a scene in the surroundings of the vehicle by projecting a number of actuatable pixels, whereby the illumination unit projects a predefined pattern onto the scene. An image capture unit captures an image of at least part of the scene. A computation unit computes at least one geometric property of the scene based on the captured image and the predefined pattern.

The invention relates to a diagnosis apparatus for detecting a defect of at least one of a plurality of light emitting diodes which are interconnected to form a light emitting diode series connecting a first supply terminal to a second supply terminal. The defect is intended to be detected with little wiring outlay. The invention provides that a resistance element is connected in parallel with each light emitting diode and a measuring device is configured to generate a diagnosis current between the two supply terminals in a luminous pause, during which none of the light emitting diodes emit light, said diagnosis current giving rise, at each resistance element, to a voltage lower than a forward voltage, starting from which the light emitting diode respectively connected in parallel emits light, and to provide a voltage value of a diagnosis voltage dropped between the supply terminals.

Diagnosis apparatus and method for detecting a defect of at least one of a plurality of light emitting diodes

A device for assisting a driver in steering a vehicle along a bottleneck. The device has a bottleneck detection unit which is configured to detect bottleneck information for characterizing a bottleneck in which the vehicle is located. A bottleneck information processing unit is configured to process the detected bottleneck information in order to derive therefrom assistance information for assisting the driver in steering the vehicle along the bottleneck. An actuation unit is provided and is configured to actuate a light source of the vehicle in such a way that the light source generates a light pattern, which can be seen by the driver, outside the vehicle, which light pattern displays the assistance information to the driver.
