A sensor pod is used to analyze one or more chemistry values of a recreational water facility such as a pool, a hot tub and a sauna. The sensor pod can sense one or more chemistry values such as pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, chlorine levels, and cyanuric acid levels. The sensor pod uploads the one or more chemistry values to a server. The chemistry values are processed and analyzed at the server against a set of target or ideal level values to obtain a set of output chemistry values and based upon the output values a message is sent to a customer. The message can instructs the customer to apply remedial steps to normalize the chemistry values as needed. The message can instruct the customer and/or a pool owner to apply remedial steps to normalize the chemistry values as needed.

System for and method remotely monitoring chemistry of recreational water facilities

The present disclosure relates to a substrate containing passive NOadsorption (PNA) materials for treatment of gases, and washcoats for use in preparing such a substrate. Also provided are methods of preparation of the PNA materials, as well as methods of preparation of the substrate containing the PNA materials. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a coated substrate containing PNA materials for PNA systems, useful in the treatment of exhaust gases. Also disclosed are exhaust treatment systems, and vehicles, such as diesel or gasoline vehicles, particularly light-duty diesel or gasoline vehicles, using catalytic converters and exhaust treatment systems using the coated substrates.

The present disclosure relates to micron-sized particle used for catalyzing and storing NOgases, such as those found in vehicle exhaust emissions, washcoats employing micron-sized particle used for catalyzing and storing NOgases, washcoat coated substrates, lean NOtrap (LNT) systems, and vehicles using such systems. Also provided are methods of preparing micron-sized particle used for catalyzing and storing NOgases, as well as preparation of washcoats and coated substrates. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a lean NOtrapping materials, wherein the materials include a NOcatalytic component attached to a micron-sized carrier particle and a NOstorage component, as well as washcoats and coated substrates useful in the treatment of exhaust gases. The system further comprises means for impregnating supports with the nanoparticles.

An apparatus for cooling a reactive mixture, comprising: a reactor configured to form the reactive mixture; a quench chamber comprising a frusto-conical body having a wide end, a narrow end, and a quench region formed between the wide and narrow end, wherein the quench chamber is configured to receive the reactive mixture from the plasma reactor through a reactive mixture inlet into the quench region, to receive a conditioning fluid through at least one fluid inlet, and to flow the conditioning fluid into the quench region, wherein the frusto-conical body is configured to produce a turbulent flow within the quench region with the flow of the conditioning fluid into the quench region, thereby promoting the quenching of the reactive mixture to form a cooled gas-particle mixture; and a suction generator configured to force the cooled gas-particle mixture out of the quench chamber.

Method and system for forming plug and play oxide catalysts

Disclosed are, inter alia, methods of forming coated substrates for use in catalytic converters, as well as washcoat compositions and methods suitable for using in preparation of the coated substrates, and the coated substrates formed thereby, which in some cases use iron-exchanged zeolite particles that provide enhanced performance such as lower light-off temperatures and lower pollutant levels in exhaust gases. The catalytic material is prepared by a plasma-based method, yielding catalytic material with a lower tendency to migrate on support at high temperatures, and thus less prone to catalyst aging after prolonged use. Also disclosed are catalytic converters using the coated substrates, which have favorable properties as compared to catalytic converters using catalysts deposited on substrates using solution chemistry. Washcoats and coated substrates for catalytic converters and methods of making and using same

Embodiments of present inventions are directed to an advanced catalyst. The advanced catalyst includes a honeycomb structure with an at least one nano-particle on the honeycomb structure. The advanced catalyst used in diesel engines is a two-way catalyst. The advanced catalyst used in gas engines is a three-way catalyst. In both the two-way catalyst and the three-way catalyst, the at least one nano-particle includes nano-active material and nano-support. The nano-support is typically alumina. In the two-way catalyst, the nano-active material is platinum. In the three-way catalyst, the nano-active material is platinum, palladium, rhodium, or an alloy. The alloy is of platinum, palladium, and rhodium.

The present disclosure relates to a substrate comprising nanomaterials for treatment of gases, washcoats for use in preparing such a substrate, and methods of preparation of the nanomaterials and the substrate comprising the nanomaterials.
