An absorbent substrate such as a wool dryer ball is imbued with a fragrance or treatment composition. The fragrance or treatment composition comprises an aqueous carrier, free fragrance, and encapsulated fragrance. The composition includes about 0.1 wt. % to about 5 wt. % free fragrance and about 0.1 wt. % to about 10 wt. % encapsulated fragrance. A kit includes absorbent balls, the fragrance or treatment composition, and an applicator for applying the fragrance or treatment composition onto or within the absorbent balls.

Disclosed is a method for producing a unit-dose capsule which includes optionally forming the first film into the shape of a first cavity, supercooling a first component to a temperature at which the equilibrium state of the first component is a solid or semi-solid, dispensing the first component in a supercooled state into the first cavity, such that the first component gels to form at least one layer of gel adhered to and/or in contact with the first film, forming a second film into the shape of a second cavity, filling the second cavity with a second component, sealing the first film to the second film to form a sealed cavity having at least one chamber containing the first component and the second component. The present disclosure provides compositions for fabric treatment having at least one dye transfer inhibitor (DTI), at least one water-soluble carrier, at least one fragrance, and at least one buffer system, and other optional ingredients. During a wash cycle, the compositions disclosed herein significantly boost color fading protection of fabrics. The present disclosure further provides a method of making a composition for fabric treatment, including mixing a water-soluble carrier and a buffer system to form a mixture; adding a dye transfer inhibitor (DTI) and a fragrance into the mixture; mixing the mixture; heating the mixture and obtaining a melt thereby; and cooling the mixture. The method can further include shaping the melt into individual particles having melt bodies, which can optionally be in the form of a pastille.

Detergent boosters, detergent systems that include a detergent booster, and methods of laundering fabric are provided herein. In an embodiment, a detergent booster includes a nonionic soil release polymer and, optionally, one or more surfactants with a total amount of surfactant present in an amount of up to 4 weight % based upon a total weight of the detergent booster. The nonionic soil release polymer includes a backbone having ester linkages.

Systems and methods for analyzing stained fabric articles are provided herein. In an embodiment, a method for analyzing stained fabric articles includes providing a stained fabric article that includes a foreign oily substance disposed in and/or on the fabric article. At least one image of the stained fabric article is captured using a three-dimensional imaging device, wherein the at least one image is captured in the absence of a colored dyes added to the foreign oily substance in and/or on the fabric article. The at least one image is processed using a contrast function to produce a processed data set. One or more of a processed image or a quantitative data set that is representative of oily substance presence in the viewing area of the three-dimensional imaging device is produced based upon the processed data set.

Systems and methods for analyzing stained fabric articles

Provided herein are solid salt base or sugar base compositions for delivering encapsulated fragrance to textiles, and processes of making and using the compositions for treating textiles. It has been discovered that, during the manufacturing process, premixing a silicon compound and a salt base or sugar base before incorporating an encapsulated fragrance slurry to the salt base or sugar base significantly decreases the encapsulate breakage rate of the solid compositions. Solid encapsulated fragrance compositions prepared by the process allows consumers to experience a long-lasting freshness of their clothes after treating their clothes with the encapsulated fragrance compositions.

Stable encapsulated fragrance compositions

The present invention provides a beneficial composition comprising (a) an encapsulated benefit agent composition comprising: a core comprising at least one benefit agent, and a water-insoluble shell; and (b) a suspension medium comprising: at least one suspending polymer, and at least one clay. The present invention also provides methods of using such a beneficial composition. In addition, the present invention provides methods of making a beneficial composition comprising: (a) providing an encapsulated benefit agent composition comprising a core comprising at least one benefit agent and a water-insoluble shell; (b) providing a suspension medium comprising at least one suspending polymer and at least one clay; (c) adding the encapsulated benefit agent composition to the suspension medium; and (d) mixing the suspension medium and the encapsulated benefit agent composition to form a substantially uniform aqueous suspension.
