A method of pumping a non-Newtonian fluid includes pumping the non-Newtonian fluid into an interior of a tubular string, and autonomously controlling a flow resistance to the non-Newtonian fluid flowing from the interior of the tubular string to an exterior of the tubular string with an autonomous flow control device.

A completion assembly having a wireless adjustable electronic flow control node disposed along the sand screen base pipe to control flow of a fluid through a shunt tube assembly adjacent a sand screen. Each electronic flow control node includes a valve that can be adjusted by an electric actuator powered by a power harvesting mechanism disposed in a flow path of the completion assembly. A wireless transmitter receives a control signal to control the electric actuator. The control signal may be transmitted to open or close a packing tube or a transport tube of the shunt tube assembly.

A sand screen system includes a tubular. The tubular includes at least one through-port from an outer surface of the tubular to an inner surface of the tubular. Further, the sand screen system includes a filtering portion positioned over the at least one through-port on the outer surface of the tubular. A moldable material couples the filtering portion to the tubular.

A downhole, interventionless system and method of controlling fluid flow from a tubular string into isolated zones of a wellbore annulus utilizing fluidic devices having different flow restriction characteristics. In an embodiment, the system includes multiple fluidic devices positioned on a work string in fluidically isolated zones of a wellbore. Each fluidic device is configured with a different flow restriction characteristic that results in a different flow rate response when a working fluid having a particular initial fluidic property is introduced into the fluidic devices. By altering the initial fluidic property of the working fluid, the flow rate from the work string into the corresponding isolated zone may be adjusted and optimally controlled without the need for additional manipulation of the fluidic devices.

A method includes directing a wellbore fluid into a flow control assembly coupled to a completion string positioned within a wellbore, the flow control assembly including at least a first fluidic device defining a flow passage, where the flow passage is formed of a material having a known wettability selected to correspond to a component of the wellbore fluid. The pressure change along the flow passage is measured and utilized to determine fluid cut based on a predetermined correspondence between pressure change and component cut for the first fluidic device. Multiple fluidic devices, each selected to have a wettability responsive to a different component of the wellbore fluid, may be aligned in parallel or series to determine the cut of multiple components in the fluid.

Using fluidic devices to estimate cut of wellbore fluids

A tubular sleeve is made of a degradable material and may be disposed within a downhole component or may be disposed around an outer surface of the downhole component. The tubular sleeve is positioned relative the downhole component such that fluid flow is prevented from passing through at least one aperture in the downhole component. The tubular sleeve is secured to the downhole component by swedging, mechanical fasteners, or adhesives. In the swedging process, the tubular sleeve is mechanically deformed by applying a force to the sleeve, which stretches and then recoils back an amount once the force is removed. Once installed, the tubular sleeve will eventually degrade, allowing fluid to flow through the at least one aperture in the downhole component.

A pressure actuated inflow control device that includes: a housing having a wall within which a fluid passageway axially extends; a collapsible apparatus coupled to the housing and configured to change from an extended to a retracted configuration when subjected to a predetermined pressure; and an axially extending plug at least partially disposed within the fluid passageway and removable from the fluid passageway; wherein, when the collapsible apparatus is in the extended configuration, the plug is disposed within the fluid passageway at a first position relative to the housing to restrict fluid flow through the fluid passageway; and wherein, when the collapsible apparatus changes to the retracted configuration, the plug is either: moved to a second position relative to the housing to allow fluid flow through the fluid passageway; or capable of moving from the first position to allow fluid flow through the fluid passageway.
