A method and system for storing complex graph data. The graph data is represented by triples, quadruples, quintuples, etc. In order to speed up storage and retrieval of graph data, the data is stored in a form of triples, quadruples, quintuples, etc. in a B-tree. The B-trees are data structures that allow operations on dynamic data sets. The operations can be search, search for minimum and maximum values, insert, delete, reference to parent or child directory. The tree can be used as a dictionary or as a prioritized chain. The speed of tree operations is proportional to the height. The data is read as blocks from the same location. If a tree node is moved to an operational memory, an allocated memory block is moved and the operation executes very fast.

Storing graph data representing workflow management

A method for auto-generation of tags and retrieval of data form a graph-based database. A triplestore is a purpose-built database for the storage and retrieval of triples, a triple being a data entity (also known as a statement) composed of Subject-Predicate-Object. A triplestore is optimized for the storage and retrieval of triples. A query language is used for accessing to triples stored in the triplestore. A search items need to be tagged for search and retrieval. The number of tags increases as the amount of data increases. Stored data changes over time, so the old tags are deleted or replaced by the new tags. A large number of new tags must be created. The tags (i.e., autotags) are created automatically to facilitate efficient data retrieval from the triplestore.

A system for synchronizing Custom Objects between an application and an External server includes an application interfacing to a server for synchronizing standard objects supported by the application; a plurality of Custom Objects stored on the External server, wherein the Custom Objects are not supported by the application, the application interfacing to the External server for synchronizing Custom Objects; the application storing a plurality of standard objects. A method for rendering advertisements on touchscreen devices having small screens is provided. Components of the existing GUI (i.e., controls) are used for rendering advertisement (or other) data. Existing mobile device GUI elements have visible surfaces filled with a background color (or pattern). These surfaces are 'painted' by an advertisement data similar to a wall painted by graffiti. The advertisement data can be static or it can be generated on-the-fly. The GUI controls can be used independent of each other. Thus, the advertising data can be selectively displayed only on some of the controls without distracting the user from the main tasks.

A method for data synchronization is provided. Custom Objects are stored in MICROSOFT Outlook as Outlook items. Two continual processes check if there are changes in the Outlook Items and whether these changes are saved on the hard drive. MICROSOFT Storage Items are used to store information about fields of Outlook items that have been changed and fields of Outlook items that have been saved to the hard drive. Then, information about both changed and saved fields is sent to an external server. Subsequently, notifications about successful saving of the fields on the external server are received. The information about the fields changed on the external server is received, as well. The fields changed on the external server are saved to the Outlook items. Thus, two-way synchronization between Outlook and the external server is achieved.

System and method for online data migration

A system, method and computer program product for migrating a server include creating an image of a storage device of a first server; during execution of a boot loader on a second server, starting an initialization application that at least partially restores, to a storage device of the second server, operating system data from the image; analyzing a hardware configuration of the second server; modifying at least one driver of an operating system based on the analyzed hardware to enable the operating system of the second server to interface to the storage device of the second server; rebooting the second server using the at least partially restored operating system data; and restoring unaltered portions of remaining data from the image. The second server identification and/or authentication data stored on the image is updated before the rebooting. Identification data of the second server is at least partially replaced with corresponding data stored on the image. The image is unchanged until completion of the restoring step. The restoration step uses an incremental image of the storage device. A boot loader is started in case of failure of the first server.

A method of securely deleting data from a storage medium includes generating a bitmap that corresponds to unused locations on the storage medium; initiating a wiping process that wipes the unused locations, where the wiping process runs asynchronously with a application; wiping the unused locations; and updating the bitmap to reflect that the unused locations have been wiped. The wiping replaces data at the unused locations with random sequences, with pseudo-random sequences, with data generated by a secure deletion algorithm, with application data from the application, or with all zeros. The wiping includes repeated writing of predetermined sequences to the unused locations. The wiping replaces data at unused locations that represent portions of any of blocks, clusters and sectors, and can wipe any metadata associated with files previously stored at any of the unused locations. Upon a request for access of data from a wiped location, data that does not correspond to data originally stored at the wiped location can be returned.

A method, system computer program product recorded on a computer readable medium, for fast incremental backup of a storage device includes selecting an area of the data storage device for backup; creating the bitmap of data storage device; reading the selected area of the data storage device; converting data read from the data storage device into a usable format for the comparison of descriptors; reading descriptors of logical storage units of the selected area; discarding selected data access attributes of the descriptors; generating hash values for the descriptors; comparing the hash values of the descriptors of the logical storage units of the selected area with the hash values of the descriptors of previously archived logical storage units; for physical storage units related to logical storage units of the selected area whose hash values of the descriptors are identical to the hash values of the descriptors of the archived logical storage units, checking if these physical storage units need to be backed up; updating the bitmap of data storage device; and backing up contents of the physical storage units marked in the backup. The logical storage units can be files. The descriptors can be compared on a physical storage unit basis.
