An electrical receptacle includes a detent for holding a terminal clamp in an open position. A terminal assembly having a terminal clamp, a terminal plate, and a terminal fastener. The terminal fastener can move the terminal clamp toward the terminal plate. The terminal clamp includes a tab that fits in a tab pocket formed in a middle housing of the receptacle. The tab pocket includes a detent for retaining the tab adjacent to a first end of the tab pocket. With the tab in this position, the terminal assembly is in the open configuration so that a space is formed between the terminal clamp and the terminal plate. In the open configuration an electrical wire can be disposed between the clamp and plate. To clamp the wire, the fastener is rotated to move the clamp toward the plate, and the detent releases the tab under application of force.

The present disclosure relates to a circuit interrupting device and system capable of being tested and reset from remote locations, and in particular to circuit interrupting devices and system capable of being tested and reset from remote locations. A remote monitoring device can also be included which can be used to control an actuation device which is capable of controlling a circuit interrupting device. Alternatively the remote monitoring or control device can be used to control the device directly.

Indicator means located in a plug or connector indicates when at least one phase of an AC multi-phase voltage is absent. The indicator means can be any one of a variety of light sources and/or an audible generator. The light source can be, for example, an LED, an illuminating ring visible from any angle around the body of the plug or connector, etc. An opaque barrier can be used to totally or partially block the light from the light source when light from the light indicator may be objectionable such as during a stage lighting application. The indicator means for detecting the absence of at least one phase can be on a printed circuit board connected to receive power from the conductors in the plug or connector.

A cordless telephone outlet device that not only provides the cordless telephone access to a telephone network, but also provides the cordless telephone the proper DC electrical energy for proper operation eliminating the need for an unsightly external DC power supply typically connected to an AC outlet. Further, the device significantly reduces exposure of the telephone line connection between the cordless telephone and the telephone network. The outlet device comprises a body having a communications connector mounted thereon and a base attached to the body. The base contains DC power supply circuitry that is connected to a source of AC electrical energy. The output of the power supply circuit is connected to a DC line terminated with a DC male plug. The cordless telephone can be directly mounted onto the device allowing the communications connector of the cordless telephone to engage directly with a corresponding communications connector mounted onto the device of the present invention while the device also provides DC power to the cordless telephone via the DC male plug. Alternatively, a relatively short telephone line cable can be used to electrically connect the respective communications connectors with the cordless phone mounted onto the outlet device of the present invention.
