According to one example, a communication method is described comprising receiving a message from a sender transmitted in each of a plurality of transmit antenna main beam directions and determining reception qualities of the messages. The method further comprises identifying a subset of a plurality of transmit antenna main beam directions based on the reception qualities of the messages, wherein the subset includes multiple transmit antenna main beam directions of the plurality of transmit antenna main beam directions, performing, for each transmit antenna main beam direction of the subset, a beam training procedure to determine an antenna weight vector for the transmit antenna main beam direction and performing a communication based on one of the determined antenna weight vectors.

Methods for communication and communication devices

This disclosure describes methods, apparatus, and systems related to a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) system. The device may determine a wireless communications channel with a first device in accordance with a wireless communications standard. The device may generate a header in accordance with a communication standard, the header including, at least in part, a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) index value. The device may determine a code rate associated with the MCS index value based at least in part on the wireless communications channel. The device may cause to send the header to the first device over the wireless communications channel based at least in part on the MCS index value.

Modulation and coding scheme codes

This disclosure describes methods, devices, and systems related to interleaving and deinterleaving symbols used in single carrier modulation and coding schemes. A device is disclosed comprising at least one memory storing computer-executable instructions, and at least one processor configured to access the at least one memory. The at least one processor is further configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to: receive a source data bit string from the at least one memory, scramble the source data bit string, parse the scrambled source data bit string into a plurality of segments, assign a portion of the plurality of segments to a Single Carrier-Block (SC-BLK), and encode the portion of the plurality of segments into a code word, wherein the code word comprises a plurality of bit groups, and each bit group comprises one or more bits. The at least one processor is further configured to determine a number of modulation symbols based at least in part on group size; map each of the plurality of bit groups to a corresponding modulation symbol; group the modulation symbols into an interleaved symbol block associated with the SC-BLK; group the plurality of modulation symbols in the interleaved symbol block into a second code word that corresponds to the first code word; and transmit a packet comprising the interleaved symbol block.

Interleaving and deinterleaving source data for single carrier modulation and coding schemes

Some demonstrative embodiments include apparatuses, systems and/or methods of steering an antenna array. For example, a steering controller may control steering of an antenna array, the steering controller may be configured to select a first plurality of timing taps out of a second plurality of timing taps of a channel estimation, to determine a plurality of steering vectors corresponding the first plurality of timing taps, to determine a particular steering vector based on the plurality of steering vectors, and to control steering of the antenna array according to the particular steering vector.

A method, apparatus, and article containing computer instructions are described. In an embodiment an apparatus includes a radio-frequency receiver to receive a training packet. The receiver may include a processor. The processor may include modules for performing carrier recovery. A coarse estimator module may derive a coarse frequency offset from the training packet; and a fine estimator module may derive a fine frequency offset from the training packet substantially simultaneously and in parallel with the coarse estimator module. A carrier recovery module may perform carrier recovery using the fine and coarse frequency offsets.
