A system for managing and securing product and deterring theft in a retail setting includes a system that resides either on a standard retailer shelf or may be a stand-alone system. In an embodiment, the system includes a plurality of shelves and product dividers positioned between the shelves and extending from the front edges of the shelves toward the rear of the shelves. Front retaining walls are positioned at the front edges of the shelves and are configured to have a height that inhibits access to products on the shelves. Individual retaining tabs of varying height may be added in front of rows of taller product to inhibit access to these products. In an embodiment, rigid or moveable barriers may be positioned above retaining walls that further restrict access to the products. With the invention, the 'sweeping' of numerous products by a thief is deterred. In another embodiment, an alert device may be configured to detect and monitor movement of the moveable barriers and may provide an alert signal corresponding to the management of product on the shelf or corresponding to a potential theft situation. In an embodiment, the alert device may communicate with a security camera to monitor the vicinity and provide a notification to the potential thief that his actions are being monitored and recorded, or provide a notification to store computer, pager, cellular telephone, or the like. In yet another embodiment, lock mechanisms may be used to further secure high-risk theft items. Also, clips or clip members may be incorporated to further secure the product dividers to the shelves. In addition, an adjustable power bar may be included that is adjustable to accommodate the height adjustments made to the shelves.

Product securement and management system

A low profile shelf system that improves the merchandising of product by creating more spacing between shelves to accommodate larger product includes low profile shelf supports. Each low-profile shelf support may define a back portion and a front portion. The back portion may include a fastening plate attached thereto, each fastening plate having a hook formation that can be inserted into a slotted upright. The back portion of the shelf support may be at least 75% vertically longer than the front portion, resulting in the front portion having a significantly lower profile than the back portion of the shelf support, thereby creating more spacing between shelves to accommodate larger product.

A modular shelving system is disclosed. In an embodiment, a box shelf is provided that may be supported by vertical rails of a shelf upright. The box shelf may be supported by shelf supports that engage the vertical rails. The box shelf may include a slideable shelf mounted on a rail and held in position by a biased hinge plate. The slideable shelf may include a divider to separate the shelf into one or more regions and to interfere with the rapid removal of products from the shelf. The box shelf may further include a door that in an embodiment may be required to be opened before products can be removed from slideable shelf.

A storage and display rack for supporting and displaying large substantially cylindrical objects, such as five gallon plastic water bottles. The storage and display rack is fabricated from one or more shelves, supported by a plurality of tubular legs. Where the storage and display rack includes more than one shelf, a plurality of tubular legs is employed to vertically separate and support successive levels of shelves. Each shelf is provided with one or more inclined slots for receiving a bottle. Each slot is provided with a back wall, having an inner resiliently support back wall member, and a plurality of ribs for raising the bottle above the bottom web of the slot. The resiliently supported back wall member is fabricated for resistance to fatigue failure. The ribs are provided to permit insertion and removal of the bottle(s) with reduced friction.

A shelf sign system comprising a first shelf and a second shelf, a first mounting bracket attached to the first shelf and attached to the second shelf, the first mounting bracket spanning the first shelf and the second shelf, and a rotatable sign unit engaged with the mounting bracket. The sign unit is slidably engaged with the first mounting bracket permitting lateral movement of the sign unit. The mounting bracket may include a first flange with a first flange opening and a second flange with a second flange opening and a pin rotatably disposed in the first flange opening and the second flange opening, wherein the sign unit is engaged with the pin. The sign unit may include an L-shaped pivot bracket slidably engaging the pin. The sign unit may be rotatable from a first closed to a second open position. Also, a pivot bracket may be vertically slidable along the pin when the sign unit is in the open position so that the sign unit rests against the first and second flange.

Shelf sign system

A device for displaying and dispensing articles having a housing and a plurality of removable cartridges is provided. The housing is provided with a cavity for receiving the cartridges such that they can be inserted, removed, and selectively arranged therein. The cartridges have an inlet opening for receiving articles, a hollow chamber for storing articles, and discharge opening for removal of the articles by a user of the display device.

Modular display device

A system for displaying objects which comprises a panel having horizontal channels therein and a clip which may be interlocked within one of the channels is provided. The panel includes a base. At evenly spaced intervals along the base, a plurality of flanges project forwardly from the base and lie in a plane which is perpendicular to the plane of the base. Each adjacent pair of the flanges forms one of the channels within which the clip may be interlocked. A plurality of slats are connected to the flanges and lie in a plane which is perpendicular to the plane of the flanges and parallel to the plane of the base. Each slat is connected to a different one of the flanges such that each slat has a corresponding flange. Further, each slat has an upper portion and a lower portion. Intermediate each adjacent pair of the flanges, there is a raised portion. Each raised portion has a flat front surface. The clip includes a base portion and a clip member projecting forwardly from a front surface of the base portion. The base portion has a flat rear surface. When the clip is interlocked within one of the channels, the rear surface of the base portion of the clip lies in uniform contact with the front surface of the raised portion of the panel.
