Systems and methods are disclosed for interconnected sortation systems with multiple inputs and destinations. In one embodiment, an example system may include a first sortation system, a second sortation system, a first induction station to induct items into the system, and a second induction station to induct items into the system. The system may include a track configured to connect the first sortation system to both the first induction station and the second induction station, and to connect the second sortation system to both the first induction station and the second induction station. The system may include a number of shuttles configured to move along the track.

Interconnected sortation systems with multiple inputs and destinations

A system for sorting and transporting inventory items from a warehouse environment to a packing station. A sorting device receives the inventory item and transports the item to a sort location. The item is transferred to an inventory transport and transported to a packing station for further processing.

An inventory management system can include a mobile sorting assembly for sorting and transporting items to storage locations. The mobile sort assembly can receive and sort an item, move the item to storage location, and transfer the item to the storage location. The mobile sorting system can include a platform for receiving and positioning the items and one or more sorting shelves for receiving the items.

Automated tray handling systems and methods may include robotic systems having various end effectors to move trays relative to item sortation systems. The passthrough end effectors may lift, move, and place trays through an interior of the end effectors by engaging and pulling or pushing flanges, edges, or other surfaces of the trays. The various automated tray handling systems and methods may increase the speed and efficiency of such processes while also reducing or minimizing the space required for such systems.

The moveable structure can include a moveable platform for receiving the items and positioning the items for transportation to storage containers.

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for automated balancing and flow management of items in multi-item orders to packing equipment. In one embodiment, an example method may include determining a first order identifier associated with a first item identifier and a second item identifier, determining that a first sorting load associated with a first item sorting machine is less than a second sorting load associated with a second item sorting machine, and determining a first tote identifier associated with the first item sorting machine. The method may include determining that a first item associated with the first item identifier is placed in a first tote associated with the first tote identifier, causing the first tote to be routed to the first item sorting machine, and determining that the first item and a second item associated with the second item identifier are ready for packing into a shipment.
