A washing and drying appliance includes a tub having an air outlet. A drum rotationally operates within the tub. An air handling system draws process air from inside the tub and through a lint filter disposed within the air outlet that filters particulate from the process air. During a filter cleaning phase, a fluid delivery system delivers impulse amounts of wash fluid toward a sump of the tub. The impulse amounts of wash fluid are maintained between an outer surface of the drum and an inside surface of the tub. The drum operates to direct the wash fluid around the drum and along the inside surface of the tub and over an interior surface of the lint filter to remove particulate from the lint filter. A fluid pump is coupled with the sump to direct wash fluid and particulate to an external outlet.

A combination washing and drying appliance includes a tub that is disposed within a cabinet. A drum is rotationally operable within the tub about a rotational axis. An airflow path is defined within an interstitial space between the drum and the tub. A blower fan operates to direct process air through the airflow path. The blower fan is disposed within a blower enclosure that is defined by a back wall of the drum and a blower housing that is attached to the tub. Engagement of the back wall of the drum and the blower housing of the tub defines a slidable engagement that is selectively sealed during operation of the blower fan to prevent the process air from leaving the airflow path and to further prevent aspiration of ambient air to the airflow path.

A recirculating fluid flow system for an appliance includes a fluid pump that delivers process fluid through a fluid path. A tub is disposed within a cabinet and defines a processing space. The fluid path includes at least a portion of the processing space. The tub has an outlet that directs the process fluid toward the fluid pump. A sprayer assembly is coupled with the tub for directing the process fluid into the processing space. The sprayer assembly includes a spray head having a plurality of spray nozzles and an operable seam that extends through each spray nozzle of the plurality of spray nozzles. The operable seam is selectively separable to define a release opening that includes at least two spray nozzles of the plurality of spray nozzles.

A front-load laundry appliance includes a drum that is rotationally operable within a tub about a generally horizontal rotational axis. A plurality of lifters are coupled to an interior surface of the drum. A fluid delivery path is at least partially defined within the drum and the plurality of lifters. A fluid delivery system delivers fluid into the fluid delivery path in a direction parallel to the generally horizontal rotational axis.

A laundry treating appliance is disclosed. The laundry treating appliance includes a tub having a tub side wall and a tub end wall defining a liquid chamber with a tub end opening. A tub manifold portion is positioned at the tub end wall. A rotatable drum is located within the liquid chamber, rotatable about a rotational axis, and has a drum side wall and a drum end wall at least partially defining a treating chamber with a drum end opening. A drum manifold portion is positioned at the drum end wall and confronts the tub manifold portion. At least one lifter is secured to the drum, and a liquid conduit fluidly couples the drum manifold portion to the at least one lifter.

A fluid condensing system for a combination washer/dryer appliance includes a metal condenser coil positioned within a condenser. Water liquid pulses through the metal condenser coil for maintaining the metal condenser coil at a cold temperature as water vapor in the hot exhaust air from the combination washer/dryer appliance condenses on the surface of the condenser coil. A common sump collects the water condensate from the condenser, the cooling fluid exiting the condenser coil, and wash water from the combination washer/dryer appliance. The water condensate, cooling fluid, and wash water is reclaimed and recycled through both a condenser coil recirculation loop and a wash water dispenser system.

A washing machine has a rotatable drum including a cylindrical wall and a base at one end on the cylindrical wall. The base includes a projecting member to space clothes in the drum from the base. At least one slot is in the base to enable passage of water into the drum. A tub includes a cylindrical wall and a base at one end of the cylindrical wall. The tub receives the rotatable drum within the cylindrical wall. The tub includes a water inlet in line with the at least one slot so that as the at least one slot is aligned with the water inlet, water is sprayed into the drum. A meshing arrangement is positioned between the drum base and the tub base to reduce a gap between the drum and tub and provide a forced passage maintaining the water at the inlet.

A combination washing and drying laundry treating appliance for treating laundry according to an automatic cycle of operation includes a cabinet defining a cabinet interior. A tub defines a tub interior for receiving wash liquid during a washing cycle of operation and has at least one baffle with a plurality of air outlets. A washing circuit comprises a treating chemistry dispenser fluidly coupled to at least one of the tub interior or drum interior and a liquid supply fluidly coupled to at least one of the treating chemistry dispenser, tub interior, or drum interior. A drying air circuit comprises a manifold assembly, a lifter assembly provided on the drum and fluidly coupling the manifold assembly to the plurality of air outlets on the baffle, an air flow assembly having an inlet and an outlet fluidly coupled to the manifold assembly, and a blower fluidly coupled to the air flow assembly whereby actuation of the blower recirculates air through the treating chamber.
