The single facer includes a load-bearing frame for housing a first corrugating roller and a second corrugating roller, meshing with each other and mounted in the load-bearing frame. The single facer further includes a pivoting structure pivoted to the load-bearing frame about a pivoting axis and provided with a first guide roller and a second guide roller () pivotally supported for rotation on the pivoting structure. A continuous flexible member is guided about the guide rollers. Furthermore, provided for is a control system adapted to displace the pivoting structure to a working position, wherein the continuous flexible member is pressed against the second corrugating roller, and to a raised position, wherein the first guide roller and the second guide roller are spaced from the second corrugating roller.

The single facer includes a first feed path for feeding a first paper web towards a corrugating nip defined between a first corrugating roller and a second corrugating roller. The single facer also includes a second feed path for feeding a second paper web towards a pressure nip defined between the first corrugating roller and a pressure member co-acting with the first corrugating roller. A respective heating system is provided along each feed path. Each heating system includes at least a pair of heating plates.

An actuator system controls the traction and position of the continuous flexible member.

The methods provide for detecting at least one operational parameter of a functional unit of the plant and calculating a current value of at least a first statistical function of the operational parameter in a current temporal window, the current value of the first statistical function defining a first coordinate of a point of current operation of the functional unit. A step is also provided of verifying whether the point of current operation is within a range of allowable values of the first statistical function, the values contained in the range of allowable values corresponding to a correct operation of the functional unit. In case the point of current operation is outside the range of allowable values, the position is determined of the point of current operation with respect to the range of allowable values and a statistical diagnosis is provided of the cause of the deviation of the current value from the range of allowable values based on the position.

Method for monitoring a corrugated board production plant

The method includes the step of pulling the corrugated board along hot plates by means of an upper flexible member and a lower flexible member driven by two electric motors. By at least one electric parameter of the drive motor of the lower flexible member, the correct operation of the traction device and in particular the correct ratio of the linear feeding speeds of the two flexible members is checked. The method provides an iterative check of the controlled electric parameter and a possible correction of the speed of the flexible members to maintain the desired speed ratio.

The slitter-scorer machine includes a suction unit for removing trims cut by the cutting blades. The suction unit in turn includes a first pair of suction nozzles associated with a first set of cutting tools, and a second pair of suction nozzles, associated with a second set of cutting tools. A conveyor device for conveying a single face corrugated web on a bridge is disclosed. The conveyor device includes a lower guide roller, around which the single face corrugated web is guided. The conveyor device further includes an upper pinching and conveyance nip formed by a pair of nip members in pressure contact with one another. At least one of the nip members is motor-driven. The pinching and conveyance nip is configured to pull the single face corrugated web upwards from the lower guide roller.

A new method is disclosed for monitoring the operation of a corrugated board production plant, the method provides for detecting at least one operational parameter of a functional unit of the plant, for example a current absorbed by a motor. Then, the current value of a statistical function of the operational parameter is calculated in a current temporal window. The maximum value and the minimum value of the same statistical function are calculated based on historicized data of the operational parameter in question. By comparing the current value of the statistical function and the maximum and minimum values, a piece of information of predictive diagnostics is obtained.
