A method is provided for controlling a drying cycle of a laundry dryer having a laundry drum and an air stream fan for circulating drying air through said laundry drum. The method includes the steps of: starting a drying cycle (); performing the drying cycle (); detecting an electric resistance and/or conductivity of the laundry during the drying cycle () for estimating a dryness level of the laundry; comparing the electric resistance and/or conductivity of the laundry with an end cycle condition (); and finishing the drying cycle (), if the end cycle condition () is fulfilled. The end cycle condition () depends on the rotation speed (S) of the laundry drum and/or on the rotation speed (S) of the air stream fan.

A method for obtaining information about a load of articles to be cleaned in a dishwasher is provided. The method may include stopping a pump from pumping liquid through a spraying system of the dishwasher at a point of time; recording a pressure signal in a sump of the dishwasher from the point of time the pump was stopped; measuring a time period, said time period being measured from the point of time the pump stopped until the pressure signal is essentially stable; and comparing the time period with reference values for obtaining information about the load in the dishwasher. Method for controlling a laundry dryer including a fan motor for driving a drying air stream fan with a variable speed

A laundry dryer is provided with a modular air recirculation subassembly fitted beneath a rotatable drum of the dryer. The subassembly has an air recirculation passage provided between an air supply passage and an air exhaust passage of the dryer. The air recirculation subassembly further has a flow directing flap at the juncture of the air inlet passage and the air recirculation passage to direct the recirculation air flow toward a heater and away from an inlet end of the air supply passage. The air recirculation subassembly may include a filter positioned across the air recirculation passage upstream of the heater, which filter is removable through the air exhaust passage. The subassembly may further include a heat exchanger to transfer heat from the warmer air exiting the exhaust passage to the cooler air entering the air supply passage, and a recirculation air flow regulating flap.

A method is provided for operating a laundry dryer having a rotatable drum for accommodating clothes to be dried and an apparatus for circulating drying air through the drum. The method comprises the steps of performing a drying cycle selected by a user, wherein the drying cycle comprises predetermined drum movements over time depending on the cycle selected, detecting values indicative of the temperature of the drying air exiting the drum, based on said detected values, determining that the clothes inside the drum are in tangling conditions and starting an untangling operation for untying the clothes inside the drum. The untangling operation comprises modification of the predetermined drum movements. The modification comprises at least one of the following: stopping the rotation of the drum, reversing the rotation of the drum, modifying the speed of rotation of the drum, at the end of the untangling operation, either resuming the predetermined drum movements associated to the drying cycle that was running before starting the untangling operation, or performing drum movements over time different from the predetermined drum movements associated to the drying cycle that was running before starting the untangling operation.

Controlling a laundry dryer with a variable drum rotation speed and a variable fan rotation speed

The invention relates to a method for detecting a water level in a dishwasher comprising a circulation pump and a TRIAC connected to the circulation pump for providing electrical power to a motor () of the circulation pump. According to the invention, a firing angle condition () of the TRIAC is used to derive the water level in the dishwasher. The invention further relates to a dishwasher comprising a circulation pump and a TRIAC connected to the circulation pump for providing electrical power to a motor of the circulation pump, a drain pump connected to a sump of the dishwasher, means for detecting a firing angle condition of the TRIAC. Control means are provided for starting the drain pump and/or supplying additional water when predefined conditions of the TRIAC firing angle are reached.
