A vaporizer device includes a cartridge and a vaporizer body. The cartridge includes reservoir configured to hold a vaporizable material. The cartridge further includes a channel extending from the reservoir and having an opening at an end of the channel. The vaporizer body includes a movable block. The vaporizer body further includes a controller configured to actuate the movable block, the actuating of the movable block moving the movable block towards the channel to compress the channel, and the compression of the channel ejects, from the opening, at least a portion of the vaporizable material. The vaporizer body further includes a heating element positioned toward the opening of the channel when the cartridge is coupled with the vaporizer body, the heating element configured to vaporize the portion of the vaporizable material.

A biological field-effect transistor (BioFET) includes source and drain regions formed in a substrate, an insulating layer disposed on a surface of the substrate, a gate disposed on the insulating layer and extending between the source and drain regions, a well region containing an electrolyte solution configured to retain an analyte, a three-dimensional (3D) graphene layer forming a channel region in the substrate, and a passivation layer. The graphene layer is biofunctionalized with a molecular recognition element configured to alter one or more electrical properties of the 3D graphene layer in response to exposure of the molecular recognition element to the analyte. The passivation layer is configured to prevent the electrolyte solution from contacting the source and drain. In some aspects, the 3D graphene layer is produced from carbon-containing inks. In other aspects, the 3D graphene layer includes a convoluted 3D structure configured to prevent graphene restacking.

Biofunctionalized three-dimensional (3D) graphene-based field-effect transistor (FET) sensor

The vaporizer device includes a reservoir configured to contain a vaporizable material. The vaporizer device further includes a heating element configured to vaporize the vaporizable material. The vaporizer device further includes a thermal flow sensor configured to measure a mass flow rate of the vaporizable material across the surface of the thermal flow sensor. The thermal flow sensor is positioned along an airflow path between the heating element and an outlet of the vaporizer device. The thermal flow sensor includes a self-cleaning element configured to remove a liquid accumulated on the surface of the thermal flow sensor by at least evaporating the liquid. The self-cleaning element is activated in response to detecting an event that activates a cleaning cycle of the thermal flow sensor.

A vaporization device includes biometric recognition systems. A vaporizer device is provided. The vaporizer device includes a vaporizer body comprising a cartridge receptacle, a heating element, a power source, and a sensor. The vaporizer device further includes a vaporizer cartridge that is selectively coupled to the vaporizer body, the vaporizer cartridge comprising one or more translucent surfaces and a passageway between the sensor and the one or more translucent surfaces. The vaporizer device further includes a controller configured to determine, based on data from the sensor, whether a user is authorized to use the vaporizer device. The controller further configured to provide power to the heating element to generate an aerosol responsive to determining the authorization of the user. Related methods and articles of manufacture are also described.

Vaporizer with sensor

A method for manufacturing a biological field-effect transistor (BioFET) is disclosed. In some implementations, the method may include preparing a carbonaceous dispersion by adding a three-dimensional (3D) graphene into a solvent; depositing the carbonaceous dispersion onto a p-type silicon wafer; spin-coating a positive photoresist over the carbonaceous dispersion; forming source and drain terminals on the p-type silicon wafer, the source and drain terminals in contact with the 3D graphene of the carbonaceous dispersion; removing residual photoresist from the carbonaceous dispersion by placing the p-type silicon wafer in 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP); and biofunctionalizing the carbonaceous dispersion with a molecular recognition element configured to alter one or more electrical properties of the Bio-FET in response to exposure of the molecular recognition element to the analyte.
