An injector device for supplying a chemically reactive component to a mixing head includes a modular structure defined by a hollow housing and guiding body extending around a longitudinal symmetry axis and having one or more supply openings for supplying the chemically reactive component; in the hollow body a nozzle orifice is obtained arranged to face and communicate with a mixing chamber obtained in the mixing head; a pin-shaped partialization and control element, which is housed and slidably movable—along the longitudinal symmetry axis—in the hollow body and configured to vary a narrowed active section of the nozzle orifice; on the partialization and control element a tip portion is obtained that is conformed to receive pressure from the respective polymer component delivered to said hollow body so as to move away said partialization and control element from said nozzle orifice to vary the area of said narrowed active section; a modular adjusting and contrasting unit, which is removably couplable with the hollow body and with the partialization and control element and configured to exert an axisymmetric thrust action on the partialization and control element to arrange the partialization and control element in an initial position and preload condition to adapt the narrowed active section to a reference flowrate and pressure of the polymer component and subsequently to vary the position of said partialization and control element to adjust the narrowed active section according to the flowrate variation, exerting the contrasting force that is suitable for balancing the pressure exerted by the polymer component; the modular adjusting and contrasting unit includes a series of interchangeable elastic elements of conical disc shape, configured to exert a non-linear elastic action that is such as to contain the retracting stroke of the partialization and control element, limiting as much as possible the pressure variation at the variation of the flowrate of the respective polymer component entering the hollow housing and guiding body; the modular adjusting and contrasting unit, the tip portion and the nozzle orifice cooperate mutually to confer to the injector device a geometric conformation with high section gain, corresponding to a high ratio between the variation of the area of narrowed active section and the longitudinal shift of the partialization and control element.

Injector device for an apparatus suitable for mixing chemically reactive components

A method is disclosed for preparing and dispensing a mixture obtained by mixing at least one first chemically reactive component and at least one second chemically reactive component containing a dispersed solid material by a high pressure mixing device comprising a mixing chamber for mixing the components, in which a valve member is slidable, in particular a slide-valve, provided with longitudinal slots for recirculating the components to respective storage tanks. The method provides removing from at least one tank, a dosed quantity of the at least second chemically reactive second component to with filler material is added; recirculating the second component through the slots of the slide-valve for a period of time that is comparatively very reduced with respect to a recirculating step of the at least first component through the slide-valve. An apparatus for preparing and dispensing the mixture is also disclosed.

Method and apparatus for preparing and dispensing a mixture obtained by mixing chemically reactive components, at least one of which containing a filler material

A device for mixing at high-pressure two or more reactive liquid components or resins includes a head-body provided with a mixing chamber with inlet and outlet openings for the injecting and recirculating reactive components; a single-piece tubular element, for delivering the mixture; a valve member with longitudinal recirculation slots; the tubular element is removably inserted into a pass-through hole of the head-body, having annular shoulder zone, separated and distant from the transversal hole; fixing elements removably lock the annular shoulder zone at the head-body for holding the tubular element in the aforesaid hole; a clearance gap between the tubular element and the pass-through hole of the head-body is provided such that the forces are exchanged through the annular shoulder zone; sealing and centering elements avoid leakages of polymeric mixture. Deformation-detecting elements detect the deformation conditions which the tubular element is subjected.

High-pressure mixing device with sensored self-cleaning delivery duct

The invention relates to a high-pressure mixing, dosing and recirculation head for injection or casting reaction molding, said high-pressure mixing, dosing and recirculation head comprising a head body, a mixing chamber, obtained in the head body wherein a valve element or mixing valve slides and in fluid communication with a supply duct, and a self-cleaning element comprising a scraping portion, said self-cleaning element being structured to slide in said supply duct, as well as comprising an apparatus for controlling and commanding mixing, supply and recirculation comprising a plurality of sensors and transducers mounted on board of the head body and of the components parts of the head connected thereto to detect and transform representative physical quantities of at least one operational status of said high-pressure mixing, dosing and recirculation head into electrical signals and an electronic control and storing system adapted to synchronously control and scan said sensors and transducers and adapted to receive and process said electrical signals indicative of said at least one operational status, at the beginning and during the operational phases of said high-pressure mixing, dosing and recirculation head to compare them with each other and with electrical signals representative of a predetermined reference operational status. The invention also relates to a high-pressure mixing, dosing and recirculation method for injection or casting reaction molding.

Monitored mixture and dosing head

A method for obtaining and applying a sealing gasket element on a slide-valve sliding in a cavity of an apparatus for the recirculation and mixing of chemically reactive polymeric components, comprises the steps of: obtaining from an elastic-plastic material a precursor element of the seal element, with a grid structure having a reticular shape; positioning the precursor element around the slide-valve; exerting on the precursor element, through temporary clamping elements, a radial compression and contraction action to insert it and couple it to one or more housing seats provided on the slide-valve so as to obtain the seal element well coupled to the latter; progressively removing the clamping elements to sequentially release successive parts of the gasket element and gradually free the slide-valve to gradually introduce the parts of the slide-valve&#x2014;freed in succession&#x2014;in the housing cavity allowing the sealing gasket element to gradually expand radially due to the elastic return by adhering tightly to the inner surface of the same housing cavity. The special equipment for fitting the sealing gasket element on the slide-valve and the so obtained recirculation and mixing apparatus is also described.

Seal gasket element for a mixing apparatus, method for obtaining and applying the same, and special equipment for fitting the same

A high-pressure mixing device adapted to form a polymeric mixture from the reaction of two or more reactive liquid components or resins, comprises a head-body with a mixing chamber having an inner cylindrical surface with inlet and outlet openings for injecting and recirculating reactive components; a duct for delivering the mixture, a valve body with recirculation longitudinal slots; the delivery duct, of the self-cleaning type, is a single-piece tubular element, insertable into a hole passing through the head-body, having an intermediate transversal hole aligned with the mixing chamber with a diameter greater than a diameter of the mixing chamber for avoiding protrusions of the walls of the transversal hole from forming inwardly of the mixing chamber of the head-body. Sealing elements duly arranged between the coupling interfaces of the various components prevent the leakage of polymeric mixture and lubricant liquid. There is also disclosed a related method.

High-pressure mixing device with single-piece delivery duct

The invention concerns an apparatus () for the dispersion of an expansion gas even in supercritical conditions, e.g. carbon dioxide, in a reactive resin, of the kind in which a reaction chamber having an input () for gas and an input () for resin is provided. Advantageously, the chamber is a dispersion and containment chamber made into a casing () of predetermined high resistance susceptible to sustain high pressure and is divided into two sections () by a head () of a dispersion and mixing cylinder-piston group () in fluid communication between themselves by means of at least one pouring passage () provided with a static mixer (), motor means () being provided for piston () control of said mixing cylinder-piston group (). The invention also concerns a process for the formation of a polyurethane foam starting with the dispersion of carbon dioxide, even supercritical, in a reactive resin in which at least one initial dispersion and mixing controlled phase of the two components is provided in a dispersion and containment chamber under pressure divided into two sections () by a head () of a cylinder-piston mixing group () in fluid communication between themselves by means of at least one pouring passage () provided with a static mixer () and in which adduction, dispersion and mixing occurs under high pressure (at least greater than 75 bar).

A method is disclosed for dispensing a polyurethane mixture onto a substrate by generating a liquid mixture from reactive component resins; introducing the mixture in an inlet section of a dispensing device so as to advance it towards a planar-shaped outlet slit section, transversely to the advancement direction of the substrate; distributing the mixture along a gap chamber having a cross section diverging towards the outlet slit section; and dispensing the mixture through the outlet slit section, so as to deposit a thin, uniform film onto the substrate. Fractions of the mixture travel equal distances from the inlet section to the outlet slit section, in equal times, maintaining equal average speeds along each section having zones placed all at the same path distance either from the inlet section or from the outlet slit section.

The polymeric components are supplied in a common pressure chamber where they flow at a same pressure and in an unmixed state into a forwardly converging fore portion of the pressure chamber, and through a settable co-injection orifice to be co-injected, in the unmixed state, into a mixing chamber transversely oriented to the pressure chamber. The settable co-injection orifice consists in an elongated restriction that longitudinally extends on a side wall of the mixing chamber orthogonally oriented to an intersecting the forwardly converging fore portion of the pressure chamber; a first cleaning member and a second cleaning member are sequentially reciprocable in the pressure chamber to eject the remaining unmixed polymeric components, respectively in the mixing chamber to eject the remaining mixture, and stop elements are provided to set an open section of the elongated restriction, by adjustably stopping the fore end of the cleaning member for the mixing chamber, in respect to the same elongated restriction of the co-injection orifice.

Method and high-pressure mixing device for the co-injection of polymeric components

A high-pressure mixing apparatus for polymeric components suitable for providing a reactive mixture for a polymerizable resin, provided with a self-regenerating seal. An annular sealing element is housed in a circular seat inside a cross hole of a bush transversely extending to and in communication with the mixing chamber, in a sealing zone downstream the injection holes for the polymeric components, between the mixing chamber and the same delivery bush; worn and/or torn parts of the annular sealing element are automatically regenerated by the reactive mixture delivered during operation of the mixing apparatus.

A method for forming a self-regenerating seal in a mixing chamber of a high-pressure mixing apparatus for polymeric components suitable for providing a reactive mixture for a polymerizable resin. An annular sealing element is provided in a circular housing seat inside the mixing chamber, in a sealing zone downstream the injection holes for the polymeric components; worn and/or torn parts of the annular sealing element are automatically regenerated by the same reactive mixture delivered during operation of the mixing apparatus. A method and apparatus for feeding a polyurethane mixture suitable to form a thermally insulating layer inside hollow bodies, such as hollow walls of a refrigerator cabinet, freezer, display counter or insulating panel. A polyurethane mixture resulting from chemically reactive components, supplied by a high-pressure mixing device, is injected into a cavity of a hollow body extending in a horizontal plain. The mixture is injected at a first flow-rate and a first injection speed, to be poured into a first deposition zone farthest from the injection point. A high-pressure mixing apparatus for producing and discharging a composite material resulting from a reactive mixture of at least a first and a second chemical components and from a filler material. The apparatus includes a main body, provided with a discharge duct for the composite material, at least one high-pressure mixing chamber for the chemical components and a first cleaning member axially displaceable between a forward and a rearward position within the discharge duct. The apparatus also comprises a second cleaning member with a control device selectively actuable to sequentially move the first and the second cleaning member between the rearward position, in which the first cleaning member opens the discharge duct, and the forward position in which the facing annular surfaces of the discharge duct and the second cleaning member are mutually abutting to eject the residual reactive mixture and close the exit port of the mixing chamber.

Self-cleaning high-pressure mixing apparatus for composite material

A method and an apparatus for high-pressure mixing of reactive chemical components. The chemical components are fed into a mixing chamber, by respective injectors at least one of which comprises a nozzle and a plug member for controlling the pressure drop; the nozzle and/or the plug member are shaped to form a lobed outlet orifice having an adjustable outlet cross section and a plurality of radially extending lobed formations, to create a vortical or swirling and highly turbulent state in the fluid jet. The surfaces in contact with the fluid of the nozzle and/or of the plug member can either be smooth or have sharp edges which contribute to increase the turbulence and swirling state of the fluid jet; a highly effective mixing degree is thereby achieved in the manufacture of polyurethane resins, bi-component resins and molded articles.
