Disclosed is a method and apparatus for locating a wireless access device relative to a vehicle. The method can include receiving, from a wireless access device, a beacon message at each of two or more antennas positioned within a vehicle and determining, based at least in part on the beacon message received at each of the two or more antennas, a position of the wireless access device relative to the vehicle. One or more systems of the vehicle can be configured based at least in part on the determined position of the wireless access device relative to the vehicle.

Intelligent wireless access system and method for a vehicle

A Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) passive vehicle access control system integrated into a vehicle and an external device to defend the system against relay attacks is provided. A vehicle access control system configured to estimate, based on received message, at least one of distance, position, or direction of a target to the vehicle prior to initiating the engine of the vehicle, the vehicle access control system comprises a master node and at least one slave node. The target is in communication with the master node and the slave node via a communication link having low energy consumption.
