Electronic system for calculating injection time in which an electronic unit with microprocessor receives as input a multiplicity of signals measured in the engine and a signal proportional to the engine load, for example a signal generated by a pressure sensor arranged in the intake manifold of the engine. The electronic unit comprises a circuit for compensating for the delay times due to the response inertia of the engine load sensor, the conditioning (filtering, conversion and processing) of the load signal and physical actuation of the injection. The electronic unit also comprises a circuit for the dynamic compensation of the 'film/fluid' effect.

Electronic system for calculating injection time

A control circuit for supplying a load with current having a high-amplitude ortion with a rapid leading edge, and a lower-amplitude portion. The circuit is input-connected to a low-voltage supply source, and comprises a number of actuator circuits parallel-connected between the input terminals and each including a capacitor and a load. Each actuator circuit also comprises a first controlled switch between the respective load and a reference line, for enabling energy supply and storage by the respective load. A second controlled switch is provided between the capacitor line and the load line, for rapidly discharging the capacitors into the load selected by the first switch and recirculating the load current, or for charging the capacitors with the recirculated load current.

Control circuit for predominantly inductive loads in particular

A system for controlling the fuel delivery of an electronic injection system, whereby a processing unit determines the amount of fuel to be injected for achieving a substantially correct stoichiometric air/fuel ratio; which value is subsequently corrected by a coefficient calculated by integrating a signal comprising a signal supplied by a sensor located in the exhaust manifold of the engine and presenting a transfer function comprising a nonlinear characteristic and a delay seriously affecting system response. The system also comprises a processing unit for simulating the transfer function of the engine-sensor system and generating a signal simulating the signal actually produced by the sensor but minus the delay introduced by the sensor and the system; which signal is used for producing a correction signal which is added to the signal generated by the sensor for compensating the delay and so improving the dynamic response of the system as a whole.

Electronic injection fuel delivery control system

The idling speed of an internal combustion engine is regulated with the use of an electronic control unit arranged to generate a signal for correcting the ignition advance and a signal for varying the piloting of a solenoid valve provided in a duct which by-passes a throttle valve which controls the air supply to the engine. For this purpose, the electronic unit acquires the instantaneous speed of the engine and the air pressure in the inlet manifold by means of sensors. The electronic unit implements an LQI (linear-quadratic-integral) type of control based on a linear mathematical model of the engine.
