Techniques for user state for user image in media content are described and are implementable to enable a user state of a user to be determined and to control whether a user image is included in media content based on the user state. Generally, the described implementations enable different user states to be defined and utilized to control inclusion of user images with media content.

User state for user image in media content

An electronic device includes a device housing having a front side and a rear side, a first image capture device positioned on the front side, and a second image capture device positioned on the rear side. One or more processors of the electronic device cause, in response to user input received at a user interface requesting the second image capture device capture an image of an object, the first image capture device to capture another image of a user delivering the user input. The one or more processors then define an image orientation of the image of the object to be the same as another image orientation of the other image of the user.

Electronic devices and corresponding methods for defining an image orientation of captured images

An electronic device includes a device housing supporting a user interface, one or more touch sensors, and at least one image capture device. One or more processors cause, in response to the user interface receiving user input initiating a video capture operation, the at least one image capture device to capture a plurality of video frames. The plurality of video frames are processed with a first video stabilization operation when the electronic device is supported by a multi-handed touch input and a second video stabilization operation when the electronic device is supported by a single-handed touch input. Visual content from different camera systems is concurrently routed to different applications during video call. A first application (e.g., a video call application) receives visual content from a first camera system while in a video call. The user can request to activate a second application, such as a photography application that allows the user to capture and display, store, or otherwise process visual content. A visual content routing system routes visual content captured by a second camera system (e.g., a rear facing camera system) to the second application concurrently with routing visual content captured by the first camera system (e.g., a front facing camera system) to the first application.

When a first sensor delivers a first signal to the one or more processors indicating that the electronic device is in a stowed state, and a second sensor delivers a second signal to the one or more processors indicating that the electronic device is in a held state the one or more processors query the third sensor for a third signal indicating whether the electronic device is in the stowed state. The one or more processors perform a control operation when the third signal fails to indicate the electronic device is in the stowed state. The one or more processors omit performance of the control operation when the third signal indicates the electronic device is in the stowed state.

Methods and systems for stowed state verification in an electronic device

A method, a mobile device, and a computer program product for locking a touch screen of a mobile device. The method includes playing video on a display, detecting movement of the mobile device and calculating a movement value. The method further includes determining if the movement value is greater than a movement value threshold and in response to determining that the movement value is greater than the movement value threshold, triggering a sensor component to detect activity data associated with a current use of the mobile device. The method further includes determining if the detected activity data matches reference activity data corresponding to use of the mobile device by a specific user of the mobile device and in response to determining that the detected activity data does not match the reference activity data, rejecting inputs to the touch screen to prevent interruption of the playing of the video.
