A pacemaker has a housing and a therapy delivery circuit enclosed by the housing for generating pacing pulses for delivery to a patient's heart. An electrically insulative distal member is coupled directly to the housing and at least one non-tissue piercing cathode electrode is coupled directly to the insulative distal member. A tissue piercing electrode extends away from the housing.

Electrodes for intra-cardiac pacemaker

Casings for retaining adapter connector modules and implantable electrical devices, and adapter assemblies for retaining implantable medical devices, include first and second opposing plates spaced apart by a gap configured to retain the devices such that sides of the devices are in confronting engagement with the first and second plates when placed the device is held in the gap. The first and second plates may be biased towards one another to assist in retaining the device in the gap. The device and adapter connector module may be arranged such that their thicknesses do not overlap. For example, the device and adapter connector module may be arranged such that a bottom perimeter edge of the adapter connector module abuts or is spaced apart from a top perimeter edge of the device.

Adapter assemblies for implantable medical electrical systems

A dilation catheter having a balloon inflation shaft with an inflation lumen into which a stiffening wire extends and a guidewire shaft having a guide wire lumen adjacent to the balloon. The stiffening wire includes at least two stepped diameter reductions along its length to vary stiffness from a stiff proximal end providing improved pushability to a less stiff distal end providing improved trackability. A manifold at the inflation shaft proximal end includes a handle for adjusting the distance the stiffening wire extends into the inflation lumen to allow stiffness to be optimized. The handle includes a tubular flange frictionally engaging the manifold to prevent inadvertent handle movement. The balloon inflation shaft and guidewire shafts are bonded together in a manner producing an assembly having a circular cross section for improved connection to a circular balloon and improved catheter performance.

Dilatation catheter with varied stiffness

A medical catheter is provided which includes a core wire extending longitudinally through inflation tubing. The inflation tubing defines an inflation lumen. The distal end of the inflation tubing extends longitudinally through a tubular first reinforcement band which terminates distal to the distal end of the inflation tubing. An inner lumen tube defines a guidewire lumen, the inner lumen tube being biaxial with the inflation tubing and running longitudinally along the outer diameter of the inflation tubing. The inner lumen tube extends longitudinally through a shim tube which has a longitudinal slit running along its top side. The inner lumen tubing which has the shim coaxially bonded thereon extends longitudinally through a shaft tube. The inflation tube with the first reinforcement band coaxially bonded thereon also extends longitudinally through the shaft tube. The shaft tube is bonded to the inner lumen tube and to the inflation tube. A metal piece may be bonded to the inflation tube. An inflatable balloon is mounted at the distal end of the shaft tube, the balloon is in fluid communication with the inflation lumen.
