An electronically-controlled capturing system for capturing data representing an amount of a drug expelled or discharged from a drug reservoir includes an electronic circuit including an electric energy unit, a processing unit operable by electric power obtained from the electric energy unit and operable to acquire data, and an electronic storage unit connected to the processing unit and configured to store the acquired data. The processing unit is operable to write the acquired data in the storage unit and is operable to read and provide the stored data from the electronic storage unit. The capturing system also includes a data reading disabling unit operably connected to the processing unit, the electronic storage unit and/or the electric energy unit. The data reading disabling unit is switchable into an activated state, in which the data reading disabling unit persistently prevents readout or providing of stored data from the electronic storage unit.

Electronically-controlled capturing system for drug delivery systems

An injection device comprising a housing with a receptacle for a product, a dosing mechanism for setting a product dosage to be administered and for displaying the set product dosage and a dispensing mechanism for dispensing the product. The dispensing mechanism may include a piston rod, at least one sleeve rotatable relative to the housing to eject the set product dosage, and a button moveable relative to the housing and relative to the at least one sleeve in a dispensing direction from a dosing position into a dispensing position to eject the set product dosage. The injection device can further include a first detector for detecting a position of the button relative to the housing or the at least one sleeve, a second detector for detecting rotational movement of the at least one sleeve or a component part coupled to the at least one sleeve and a feedback generator mechanism.

Injection device

Described is a dose tracking mechanism for a drug delivery device, including a moveable component configured to move with respect to a housing during operation of the drug delivery device and an RFID device with an electric circuit having a resonance frequency. The electric circuit includes an antenna configured to transmit a wireless RFID signal at the resonance frequency and an electrical component operatively coupled to the moveable component and configured to modify the resonance frequency based on a position of the moveable component, such that the resonance frequency of the electric circuit is an indication of the position of the moveable component. In some instances, the position of the moveable component indicates a dose set or dispensed from the drug delivery device.

RFID dose tracking mechanism for injection devices

Described is a dose tracking mechanism for a drug delivery device, including an RFID device with an electric circuit and a switch operable to open and close the electric circuit to transmit a wireless signal to a receiving device when the electric circuit is closed by the switch. The switch is configured to open and close in response to operation of a dose setting and/or a dose dispensing mechanism of the drug delivery device, and the closing and opening of the electric circuit generates a pulse of the wireless RFID signal. In one embodiment, each pulse corresponds to a unit of a dose of medicament set by the dose setting mechanism or dispensed by the dose dispensing mechanism from a drug container of the drug delivery device, depending on if the dose setting or dose dispensing mechanism is arranged to toggle the switch.

Data collection devices for attachment to injection devices are disclosed. In one embodiment, the data collection device includes: a body attachable to a dial member of the injection device, a sensor arrangement comprising a sensor and a scale, and a processor. The sensor is configured to detect a rotation of the body relative to a trigger of the injection device. The processor is configured to detect a rotation of the body relative to the trigger. One of the sensor and the scale is arranged in or on the body and wherein the other one of the sensor and the scale is located on the trigger or is rotationally lockable to the trigger configured to detect a rotation of the body relative to the trigger.

Data collection device for attachment to an injection device

Described is an indication system for a drug delivery device, including a component moveable with respect to a housing during operation of the drug delivery device, an electric circuit having an electrical property, and an electronic-ink label configured to be disposed on the exterior of the housing and in contact with the electric circuit. The electric circuit is operatively coupled to the moveable component to modify the electrical property based on a position of the moveable component such that the electrical property is an indication of the position of the moveable component. The electronic ink label includes printed electronics arranged to be in communication with the electric circuit and configured to display a visual indication related to the position of the moveable component in response to the electrical property. In some instances, the position of the moveable component indicates a dose set or dispensed from the drug delivery device.

The present disclosure relates to a touch sensitive label for an injection device, the label comprising: a flexible substrate configured for attachment to a housing of the injection device, an electronic display located on the substrate and configured to visually display at least one indication, a touch sensitive area located on the substrate and electrically connectable to the electronic display, and a processor connected to the electronic display and configured to modify the visual appearance of the at least one indication in response to a user touching or depressing the touch sensitive area.
