A power management system may monitor data relating to respective loads on a plurality of power sources. The plurality of power sources may be associated with a drilling rig engaged in a drilling process. The power management system may determine a stage of the drilling process based on the respective loads on the plurality of power sources. The power management system may determine, based on the stage of the drilling process that is determined, respective load shares for the plurality of power sources. The power management system may manage load sharing among the plurality of power sources according to the respective load shares that are determined.

Power management system for a drilling rig

A rig management system is disclosed. The rig management system may be configured to receive information to be used to control shifting of a transmission to prevent cavitation during use of the hydraulic fracturing rig. The rig management system may be configured to determine a flow rate for a pump based on the information. The rig management system may be configured to determine an output torque of the transmission based on the flow rate. The rig management system may be configured to determine a transmission gear for the transmission based on the output torque and a fuel consumption map, wherein the fuel consumption map identifies a respective fuel consumption rate for different combinations of transmission gears and output torques. The rig management system may be configured to cause the transmission to shift into the transmission gear after determining the transmission gear.

An engine controller to control a plurality of engines is disclosed. The engine controller may identify a plurality of engines configured to provide power to a load, wherein the plurality of engines have a first set of priorities associated with providing the power to the load; receive a plurality of parameters from a plurality of monitoring devices monitoring the plurality of engines; calculate a plurality of metrics corresponding to the plurality of engines based on the plurality of parameters; determine, based on the plurality of metrics, that a switching condition is satisfied to switch from the first set of priorities to a second set of priorities for the plurality of engines; determine the second set of priorities for the plurality of engines based on the plurality of metrics; and cause the plurality of engines to provide respective amounts of power to the load based on the second set of priorities.

Control of multiple engines using one or more parameters associated with the multiple engines

A system for detecting wear or failure of a genset coupling of a genset power system is provided. The system includes a vibration sensor for measuring vibrations, and an additional sensor for measuring an operating condition. A controller is configured to process operating condition data from the additional sensor using a modeling software to generate simulated data. The controller applies time domain information of at least one of the simulated data and vibration sensor data to the modeling software using a machine learning algorithm, and perform a comparison to identify wear or failure of the coupling, wherein, when performing the comparison, the controller compares at least one of: time domain information of the vibration sensor data to time domain information of the simulated data or frequency domain information of the vibration sensor data to frequency domain information of the simulated data, to identify wear or failure of the coupling.

System and method for detecting wear or failure of genset power system coupling

A hydraulic fracturing system includes an engine, transmission, and hydraulic fracturing pump. A driveshaft is coupled between the transmission and the hydraulic fracturing pump to transfer torque from the engine to the hydraulic fracturing pump. The hydraulic fracturing system also includes an advisory system including a display, a memory storing fuel consumption data and component durability data, and a controller. The controller is programmed to receive pump flow and pressure settings, identify an optimal transmission gear based on the pump flow and pressure settings, the fuel consumption data and the component durability data, and cause the optimal transmission gear to be displayed on the display.

Hydraulic fracturing system and method for optimizing operation thereof

A hydraulic fracturing system comprises a plurality of hydraulic fracturing rigs. Each hydraulic fracturing rig includes an engine, a transmission, and a hydraulic fracturing pump. A driveshaft is coupled between the transmission and the hydraulic fracturing pump to transfer torque from the engine to the hydraulic fracturing pump. The hydraulic fracturing system also includes a fuel consumption data for each hydraulic fracturing rig, and a controller. The controller is programmed to receive a total pump flow and pressure request, and identify a pump flow distribution for each hydraulic fracturing rig of the plurality of hydraulic fracturing rigs based on the total pump flow and pressure request and the fuel consumption data.

Multi-rig hydraulic fracturing system and method for optimizing operation thereof

A system for monitoring a pump, while the pump operates at a worksite, is disclosed. The system includes one or more sensors, wherein each of the one or more sensors is associated with the pump and is configured to collect high frequency data associated with the pump. The system further includes a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) controller configured to receive the high frequency data from the one or more sensors and is also configured to generate low frequency data based on the high frequency data. The system further includes a low frequency controller configured to receive the low frequency data from the FPGA controller and configured to transmit the low frequency data to a monitor.

Systems and methods for collecting high frequency data associated with a pump by utilizing an FPGA controller

A method, system, and apparatus to monitor health of a compressor are provided. The method, system, and apparatus include detecting whether the compressor has a fault associated using one or more of performance-based modeling and structure-based modeling of physical aspects associated with operation of the compressor; diagnosing any detected fault to determine the cause or causes of the fault; and evaluating each diagnosed fault to assess the significance of the fault. Data pertaining to the cause or causes of the fault and the significance of the fault is used to output health information corresponding to a health state or status of the compressor. The method, system, and apparatus also predict future health-related conditions of the compressor, and data pertaining to the predicted future health-related conditions is used to output health information corresponding to a future health state or status of the compressor.

System, method, and apparatus to monitor compressor health

A bobbin for an encapsulated coil is provided for use in a coil assembly in which flange portions are provided on each end to ensure that during the process of encapsulating the coil with an over-molded material a positive seal is established between the bobbin and the over-molded material. Each of the flange portions have first, second, and third flange sections and each of the flange sections have predetermined diameters and peripheral surfaces that are angled with respect to a reference axis of a hole defined in the bobbin. The thin sharp edges formed by the peripheral surfaces of the respective flange sections melt back during the over-molding process. This melt back creates an intricate blend between the over-molded material and the bobbin thus producing a positive seal therebetween.

Bobbin for an encapsulated coil of a solenoid assembly

A solenoid assembly is provided having a sealing device disposed in a recess of the over-molded material in order to seal the electrical leads extending from the coil of the solenoid through the recess. The sealing device is an elastomeric member having holes defined therein for the electrical leads to pass through and a larger portion that is disposed in the recess. With the larger portion pressed into the recess, a force is transferred through the elastomeric material onto the electrical leads to prohibit ingression of contaminants into the windings of the coil. The electrical leads could be either lead wires or rigid pins. The elastomeric material also serves to provide vibration damping.

A pulse-width-modulated signals is preferable because it is less susceptible to signal degradation from engine noise or other factors. A stationary portion of the potentiometer includes both a mother board and a daughter board to improve manufacturability of the potentiometer. An application specific integrated circuit is substituted for direct pulse-width-modulation circuitry that permits a second, redundant circuit to be included within the potentiometer housing.
