One embodiment is a navigation system for an aircraft including a positioning system to generate information related to a position of the aircraft, a group of cameras mounted to a body of the aircraft, each camera of the group of cameras to simultaneously capture images of a portion of an environment that surrounds the aircraft, and a processing component coupled to the positioning system and the group of cameras, the processing component to determine a current position of the aircraft based on the information related to the position of the aircraft and the images.

Navigation system with camera assist

In an embodiment, an aircraft includes first and second wings. The aircraft also includes a plurality of propulsion assemblies, the plurality of propulsion assemblies including a propulsion assembly connected to each end of each of the first and second wings. The aircraft also includes first and second vertical supports disposed between the first and second wings. The aircraft also includes a storage pod disposed between the first and second vertical supports. The storage pod includes a nose portion that extends forward of the plurality of propulsion assemblies. The nose portion includes at least one radar and at least one camera. Other embodiments of this aspect include corresponding computer systems, apparatus, and computer programs recorded on one or more computer storage devices, each configured to perform the actions of the methods.

Detect and avoid sensor integration

A vibration attenuating fluid mount with a partitioned compensator includes an inner member, an outer member, a flexible member having a castellated transition between a fluid passageway and at least one operating chamber. A membrane may be disposed in a volume compensator in fluid communication with one or more operating chambers. Vibration isolation device mounting system

The vibration suppression system includes a vibration isolator located in each corner in a four corner pylon mount structural assembly. The combination of four vibration isolators, two being forward of the transmission, and two being aft of the transmission, collectively are effective at isolating main rotor vertical shear, pitch moment, as well as roll moment induced vibrations. Each opposing pair of vibration isolators can efficiently react against the moment oscillations because the moment can be decomposed into two antagonistic vertical oscillations at each vibration isolator. A pylon structure extends between a pair of vibration isolators thereby allowing the vibration isolators to be spaced a away from a vibrating body to provide increased control.

In accordance with one embodiment of the present disclosure, a system includes a first housing, a second housing, a seal, and a spring system. The first housing includes a first volume of fluid. The first housing is capable of connecting to a first element and to a second element, and is also capable of reducing an amount of movement transferred from the first element to the second element. The second housing is connected to the first housing. The second housing includes a second volume of fluid and a volume of gas. The first volume of fluid is in fluid communication with the second volume of fluid. The seal is capable of separating the second volume of fluid from the volume of gas. The spring system is capable of applying pressure to the first volume of fluid and the second volume of fluid.

System and method for vibration isolation

A vibration control system includes an outer housing, an inner housing carried within the outer housing, a fluid passage extending through the inner housing and in fluid communication with a first fluid reservoir and a second fluid reservoir on opposing sides of the inner housing, and a gas extraction system. The gas extraction system includes a gas reservoir in fluid communication with the first fluid reservoir, a removable cap secured to the outer housing, a lid removably attached to the cap, and a plurality of conduits extending through cap and lid and configured to provide fluid and gas communication between the first reservoir and the gas reservoir.

A mount system for supporting a transmission in an aircraft can include a first link coupled between a structure of the aircraft and the transmission, the first link having a first axis; a second link coupled between the structure of the aircraft and the transmission, the second link having second axis; a third link coupled between the structure of the aircraft and the transmission, the third link having a third axis; and a fourth link coupled between the structure of the aircraft and the transmission, the fourth link having fourth axis. A forward focal point of the first axis and the second axis has a different waterline component compared to an aft focal point of the third axis and the fourth axis.

A vibration isolator includes an upper housing and a lower housing; an upper reservoir housing defining a upper fluid chamber; a lower reservoir housing defining a lower fluid chamber; a piston spindle resiliently coupled to the upper housing with an upper elastomer member, the piston spindle being resiliently coupled to the lower housing with a lower elastomer member; an elongated portion having a tuning passage; and a tuning fluid disposed there within. The vibration isolator cancels vibratory forces at an isolation frequency. The vibration isolator is utilized in a pylon system for mounting a transmission in an aircraft. The vibration isolator is located between a pylon structure and a roof structure. The isolator includes a spherical bearing assembly that is located near a waterline location of a rotational axis of a drive shaft.

Mechanically optimized liquid inertia vibration eliminator and aircraft pylon system

A restraint system for a transmission in an aircraft can include a first strut having a first fluid chamber, a first piston resiliently coupled to a first housing with a first elastomeric member. The restraint system can include a second strut having second fluid chamber, a second piston resiliently coupled to a second housing with a second elastomeric member. The restraint system can include a fluid line between the first fluid chamber and the second fluid chamber. The first strut and the second strut collectively provide not only torque restraint, but also torque measurement and fore/aft vibration isolation.
