A motor vehicle wiper including a wiper blade which is articulated to the longitudinal end of a wiper arm via a connector which is articulated on the arm and fixed over a linking portion of the blade, and wherein the linking portion includes two substantially longitudinal and parallel lateral flanges and a transverse element extending between the two flanges and designed to cooperate with a mobile lock borne by the connector for fixing the connector on the blade. The invention is characterized in that the lock is articulated on the connector between a locking position and an unlocking position.

A motor vehicle wiper articulated on a wiper arm by a connector provided with a sliding lock co-operating with a transverse element of the blade for fixing the connector on the blade. The lock includes a control plate capable of elastic deformation along a direction perpendicular to the lock sliding direction and bears means for blocking the lock which, when the lock is free in the locking position, co-operate with matching means integral with the blade for blocking the lock, and, further, when the control plate is deformed, are released from the matching means for enabling the lock to slide.

The screen wiper mechanism has a crank, a connecting rod, a pivot pin and an articulating device which couples the crank to the connecting rod. The structure has, in succession: a head which bears against an engagement surface that is formed, in facing relationship with the head, in a first lateral face of the connecting rod. A cylindrical first shank portion and a cylindrical second shank portion that is of smaller diameter than the first shank portion forms an extension to the first shank. The articulating device also has structure that secures the crank on the second shank portion of the pivot pin against relative axial movement and takes up axial clearance. This structure, moreover, is arranged to be compressed while fastening the structure together during assembly.

A motor vehicle screen wiper comprises a screen wiper arm having a drive head fastened on an end portion of a motor shaft, which is part of a screen wiper drive unit. The motor shaft end portion comprises a conical portion which is received in a complementary through hole associated with the drive head, and which is extended by a threaded terminal shank on to which a fastening nut is screwed. The radial thrust face of the nut cooperates with a portion, in facing relationship with it, of the upper face of the drive head. The drive head comprises an orientation ring in which the conical through hole is formed, with one face of the orientation ring being formed with a set of ridges which cooperate with a complementary ridged engagement surface formed, in facing relationship with the ridged face of the orientation ring, on the body of the drive head. The body is formed with an oblong through hole through which the end portion of the motor shaft extends.

A screen wiping apparatus comprises a wiper arm which carries at least one wiper blade. The wiper arm is articulated about a pivot axis on a drive head for driving the wiper arm in oscillating movement. A substantially constant wiping torque is applied to the wiper arm by a spring. The apparatus also includes means for applying a complementary torque to the wiper arm so as to modify the actual wiping force applied to the wiper blade. This complementary torque applying means includes an actuator having an output member, which is coupled to the wiper arm through a connecting member. The connecting member includes a working surface which cooperates with a complementary torque transmitting member, typically in the form of a lever, which is coupled to the wiper arm and which is pivotable with respect to the latter against the action of a loading spring.

A scavenging duct and an auxiliary valve for overcoming failure of the scavenging duct and/or of the safety valve, in order to ensure that the fuel tank is vented through the fresh air duct are also provided.

A venting system for a motor vehicle fuel tank comprises a fuel tank having a filling pipe, an overflow duct, a gas vent duct, a safety valve; fresh air duct for removal of excess fuel vapor from the fuel tank through the fresh air duct. A scavenging duct and an auxiliary valve for overcoming failure of the scavenging duct and/or of the safety valve, in order to ensure that the fuel tank is vented through the fresh air duct are also provided.

A pivoting connection device between two oscillating elements of a windshield wiper blade comprises an intermediate member carried by the main stirrup of the blade, with the intermediate member cooperating pivotally with a support bar. The latter has a resiliently deformable portion for engagement with a pivot means carried by the intermediate member. The invention is applicable in particular to automotive vehicles.

This invention is concerned with a windshield wiper incorporating a deflector. The windshield wiper is characterized in that the deflector comprises a rigid, shaped, flat core element covered on at least one of its faces with a flexible material which is extended beyond the edge of the core element at the edge of the deflector nearest to the windshield, so as to cover this edge. The invention is applicable to the automotive industry.

A connecting device for connecting a windshield wiper blade on to a windshield wiper arm includes a securing element for cooperation with an opening formed on the wiper blade, together with a pivoting coupling element for articulation with the wiper arm whereby to obtain a pivoted connection between the blade and the arm. The connecting device includes means for absorbing any clearance between the securing element and the opening, together with a locking element for locking the securing element on to the blade and for activating the means for absorbing clearance. A lock mechanism is provided with a housing having a closable flap pivoted thereon. The flap carries a key releasable lock cylinder equipped with locking elements and a locking bolt slidable under the action of a return spring. The locking bolt comprises a shoulder cooperating with a stud mounted on a cam plate which pivots to bring the bolt into the open position against the action of the return spring, whereby the bolt is disengaged from a fixed abutment. The cylinder and cam plate can occupy a locking position (v) in which the locking elements are resiliently urged into a locked position within locking grooves formed in the closable flap so that the stud locks the bolt. When the cylinder and cam plate are moved to a second position (F) angularly displaced from the locking position (v) the stud frees the locking bolt so that the bolt can move for the purpose of locking or unlocking the flap whether or not the key is present in the lock mechanism.
