The invention relates to a method for separating the web rolls () of a roll set () traveling on a conveyor () from each other. The conveyor () comprises a conveyor belt or chain () adapted to run about driving and tail pulleys (). In the method, the set () of web rolls is transported on the leg of the conveyor belt or chain (). According to the method, onto the top surface of the conveyor belt or chain () is formed an elevation capable of separating the web rolls () apart from each other with the help of an elevating roll assembly () adapted to operate below the top surface of the conveyor belt or chain () and comprising at least one rotary elevating roll ().

Method for use in a conveyor and a conveyor

In this publication it is described a method and an arrangement for moving parent reels () between at least two handling stations with the aid of a parent reel cart (), wherein at least one of the stations a parent reel () is carried on carrier rails (). At the first handling station, the parent reel is transferred to the parent reel cart (), the parent reel () is locked to the cart (), and the parent reel () is moved to the next handling station. The parent reel () is transferred to the next station and the parent reel () locking is released. According to the invention the parent reel is moved between the station and the cart by means of transfer carriages (), which grip the ends of the parent reel and move independently over the junction between the carrier rails () of the station and the parent reel carts's means () for carrying parent reels.

Method and arrangement for handling parent reels

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for stopping a roll set, quickly in a controlled fashion. Typically, such a roll set is comprised of a plurality of rolls which is launched from a slitter wherefrom it is rolled along a downward ramp to a conveyor. On the downward ramp, on the side of the conveyor opposite the ramp is a number of adjacent stop gages suited for being controlled to a home position and an operating position, respectively. For each roll, a required number of the stop gages located along the rolling path of the roll is selected to operate, while the rest of the stop gages are left in their home positions. In this fashion, each roll can be stopped individually even when the rolls move simultaneously and, moreover, the stopping force can be adjusted separately for each roll.
