Adapting web-based applications in a client/server web-based architecture is provided. At least a first version and a second version of a client/server application is provided. An adaptable application platform monitors a client and a server in a client/server web-based architecture for one or more performance characteristics. If one or more configurable performance characteristics exceeds a threshold, the adaptable application platform switches dynamically between executing the first version to executing the second version. The first version is server preferring and the second version is client preferring.

Adaptable applications in a client/server architecture

A user interface (UI) may be provided that allows a user to connect a first identity in a first social community to another identity in another social community by allowing the user to specify the first identity and another identity. Responsive to a user utilizing the UI, the user may be presented with an option to identify connections in the first social community according to a criteria with members associated with another identity in said another social community. A list of identified connections may be presented.

Bridging relationships across enterprise and personal social networks

Sharing contact information among one or more communities or individuals in a social media environment, in one aspect, may comprise creating contact information associated with contact as social media content based on input from a first user. At least a portion of the contact information may be shared with a plurality of second users via a social media like application.

Social sharing of contacts information

Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to database driven collaborative applications and provide a novel and non-obvious method, system and computer program product for generating a separable query design object and database schema through visual view editing. In one embodiment, an application generation method can be provided. The method can include creating a form for a collaborative application, placing a data source user interface control within the form and binding at least one field of a database query result set to the data source user interface control. Finally, the method can include storing a database query for the result set separately from the form.
