The present invention concerns a pipette comprising a mechanism with which the stroke length of a piston can be changed by rotating the piston rod. The pipette comprises a locking mechanism which prevents the rotation of the piston rod when the piston has been pushed a certain distance downwards from its upper position, but does not prevent the rotation when the piston is in its upper position.

A pipette including a cylinder part having a cylinder and a tip part, which includes a tip channel connected to the cylinder and a movable piston tightly fit within the cylinder for aspirating liquid into and removing liquid from the tip container attached to the cylinder. In the pipette at least the tip part is made of an elastic material, such as rubber. The tip container can thus be easily and reliably fixed to and removed from the tip container.

The invention relates to an electric pipette () comprising a body (), a tip part (), a hook part (), a push-button part () and a display part (), said body () having a vertical axis () and at least one of the parts selected from the group consisting of the hook part (), the push-button part () and the display part () is rotatable about the vertical axis () of the electric pipette () correspondingly by an angle &#x3c6;, &#x3c6;or &#x3c6;.

A pipette includes a housing defining a suction chamber. A piston is configured to move in the suction chamber. A first retainer mechanism includes a first threading configured to limit a motion of the piston in the suction chamber. A second retainer mechanism includes a second threading configured to limit the motion of the piston in the suction chamber, the second threading having a pitch less than a pitch of the first threading.

Adjustable pipette

The patent application discloses a multi-cylinder pipette (1). The pipette specifically comprises 16 4.5 mm spaced channels (5), being thus suitable for use with a plate comprising equally spaced 16.times.24 wells. The set of cylinders of the pipette has been assembled from separate elements. A set of cylinders composed of elements provides ease of manufacture. Moreover, the same element and other components can be assembled to provide various pipettes.

Multi-cylinder pipette

The invention relates to a pipette used for dosing of liquids. The most characteristic feature of the pipette is that in order to remove the liquid as completely as possible, the dosing piston (18) is pressed first into a low position below the basic position, after which an additional removing phase is carried out using a separate removing piston (13), so that the piston area that affects the liquid container (3) is greater during the additional removing phase. This way, a pressure stroke is formed, which effectively and reliably removes even the droplet that easily remains at the tip of the container. Most preferably, both the removing piston and the dosing piston move in the additional removing phase.

Phase pipette

A jet part pipette includes a body having an upper end and a lower end, the body having a longitudinal opening therein. A jet part is connected at the lower end of the body, and has an upper portion and a lower end. A replaceable jet container is connected to the lower end of the jet part, and has a lower element having a longitudinal opening therein. A movable rod extends through the jet part and through the longitudinal opening in the body, and has a manually operable upper end and a lower end engaging the lower element of the replaceable jet container for drawing liquid therein. A replaceable cover surrounds the upper portion of the jet part, and has a first end portion and a second end portion, the first end portion of the replaceable cover being detachably connected to an outer periphery of the upper portion of the jet part. The lower end of the jet part extends beyond the second end of the replaceable cover. Continued actuation of the movable rod toward the replaceable jet container while the lower end of the movable rod is in engagement with the replaceable jet container, causes removal of the replaceable jet container from the lower end of the jet part.

Jet part pipette

A positive-displacement pipette is provided comprising a longitudinally extending body portion having a bore passing therethrough, a hand grip portion disposed at one end of the body, and a tip portion coupled to and coaxially extending from the hand-grip portion. A cylinder is employed connected to and extending coaxially from the tip portion of the pipette, wherein the cylinder has a jet at its bottom end and a piston rod extending through the cylinder to the jet. A gripping arm in the form of a slidable sleeve is movably supported within the bore of the body and is adapted for gripping the piston rod by force applied to the slidable sleeve to thereby cause the sleeve to attach itself to the piston rod by friction. A device located on the hand grip portion of the body is provided for applying force to the slidable sleeve and hence to the piston rod extending through the cylinder to the jet.

The invention relates to a pipette in which a piston is reciprocated in a cylinder by means of an electric motor. The pipette is preferably provided with a volume adjustment nut comprising locking mechanism to prevent accidental volume adjustment. According to another preferable embodiment the pipette is provided with contact switches for automatically stopping the motor. According to a third preferable embodiment the pipette comprises a cylinder assembly comprising a mechanism for ejecting a tip reservoir of the cylinder.
