Dispensers for dispensing an insect control active include a porous substrate impregnated with an insect control active. The porous substrate has a minimal bending moment of about 150 to about 275 g-cm. Upon activation, the dispenser exhibits an effective release rate of the insect control active of about 0.1 to about 0.3 mg/hr.

A method of operating an emanation system is disclosed that includes the step of providing a dispensing device containing an air treatment material and a substrate. The method further includes the steps of aligning a nozzle of the dispensing device with the substrate and actuating the dispensing device to spray an amount of the air treatment material onto at least a portion of the substrate.

Emanation system and method for use

An emanation system is disclosed that include a substrate, a secondary substrate, and an air treatment material. The secondary substrate is adapted to be wetted with runoff from the air treatment material applied to the substrate. When applied, the air treatment material emanates from the substrate at a first release rate and from the secondary substrate at a second release rate.

Substrate

Traps are disclosed for controlling flying insects such as wasps. The traps are pre-packaged with attracting liquid prior to sale, and then sealed with a peel-off film in a manner that prevents leakage prior to use. When the trap is about to be used, the peel-off film is removed to expose both a trap entry and a pivotable stand. A rain/sun shield is then mounted on the stand, preferably with the upper portion of the stand projecting through the shield to form part of a hanger.

Flying insect trap

Bait stations are provided which present the ability to monitor bait and expand capacity of bait without materially adversely affecting feeding activity. In one form a slow acting toxicant-laced attractant is provided in the station. The station has an outer housing, an openable opaque lid, and a transparent window moveable relative to both the lid and housing. One can move the lid while leaving the window in place, or move both the lid and window. Removal of both permits attachment of a second such housing to the first, while the first remains in place. The lid and window can then be affixed to the second housing. These stations can be used to control termites and other crawling pests.

Bait station

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for rapid flash-like volatilization of high and low vapor pressure components from liquid or solid emanators which is in contact with a point or localized heat source. Vaporization is promoted by a geometrically small electrically resistive heating element with variable activation for pulsed or cyclic heating of an emanating surface containing the volatile components. The apparatus is primarily directed towards the treatment of residential air for fragrancing, odor elimination, treatment of insects or pests, air sanitization, air and surface antibacterial or antimicrobial treatment, or other ambient air or surface modification by way of gas or vapor distribution.
