A rotary controller for a vehicle apparatus such as an infotainment system has at least two operating elements which are arranged at a spacing from one another in a direction of extent of an axis of rotation of the rotary controller. The rotary controller has a receptacle on which the operating elements are mounted along with a plurality of contact-sensitive sensor elements. Each sensor element associated with a respective operating element to detect a rotational movement about the axis of rotation when a user manually contacts the respective operating element.

A heating system for a windshield of a vehicle, in which a fan unit is configured to produce a hot air flow at the inner side of the windshield. In order to enable efficient heating of a windshield of an electric vehicle, there is provision for the heating system to have an at least predominantly transparent partition unit, which in a shielding position is secured in the vehicle in such a manner that it is arranged in the longitudinal vehicle direction between at least a predominant portion of the windshield and an inner region which is provided for passengers, whereby the hot air flow can be guided at least partially in a heating region between the windshield and the partition unit.

Heating system for a vehicle windshield

An identity of a user may be verified using a computer-implemented identification. User-specific sensor data arising through use of the portable computer by the user is collected from sensors of a portable computer. A user profile is prepared based on the user-specific user data. Current sensor data is read in, from the sensors, representative of current usage of the portable computer. The current sensor data is compared with the user profile. Apparatus and method for designing an optical extender for a vehicle heads up display (HUD). An example vehicle includes a windshield and a HUD system. The HUD system includes an image source to provide a projection image and a main mirror to project the projection image onto the windshield. The image source and the main mirror define a light path. The HUD system also includes an optical extender between the main mirror and the windshield. The optical extender has a multi-polynomial top surface that modifies light in the light path to, when the light in the light path intersects the windshield, create an optical path wherein a virtual image of the projection image is visible from an eyebox defined within a cabin of the vehicle.

Optical extender for vehicle heads up displays

A method of controlling a head-up display (HUD) of a vehicle to adjust the vertical position of a light bundle generated by the HUD to match an eye of a vehicle driver. A camera is operated to capture an image of a head of the vehicle driver reflected in a combiner of the head-up display. An electronic processor analyzes the image captured by the camera and determines a position of a driver's eye. The processor controls operation of an electric motor to automatically adjust the position of the combiner to align a light bundle or eyebox generated by the projector and reflected by the combiner with the eye position determined by the processor.

Head-up display system for a vehicle

A wavefront correction element for an optical system, in particular an optical system of a microlithographic projection exposure apparatus or a mask inspection apparatus, has a carrier film () which at least partly transmits electromagnetic radiation that has an operating wavelength of the optical system and that impinges on the carrier film during operation of the optical system. Wavefront correction element for use in an optical system

The disclosure relates to a head-up display for a vehicle. The head-up display includes a combiner screen that is arranged between a viewer and a window pane of the vehicle. The combiner screen reflects an image, which is generated by an image generating and imaging device at a front-side reflection surface, which faces the viewer, to the viewer. The viewer can perceive the generated image as an imaginary image located behind the combiner screen. A polarization filter is attached on a rearward side, which is remote from the viewer, of the reflection surface of the combiner screen.
