A method and system for computer assisted orthopedic feedback of at least one surgical object relative a pre-operative plan are disclosed. The pre-operative plan includes a virtual object, which is the virtual representation of the surgical object, and a virtual structure, which is the virtual representation of the patient structure. The method comprises providing the pre-operative plan including planned position and orientation of the virtual object relative to of the virtual structure; obtaining the position of the patient structure based on a surface of the patient structure using a surgical navigation system; obtaining the position of the surgical object using the surgical navigation system; registering the patient structure to the virtual structure and the surgical object to the virtual object; tracking a current position and orientation of the surgical object using the surgical navigation system; and providing feedback of a current position and orientation of the surgical object relative to the planned position and orientation of the virtual object based on the tracked current position and orientation of the surgical object.

Method and system for computer assisted surgery

A method for planning an orthopedic procedure including positioning a virtual implant component relative to a 3D volume of scan data of a patient is disclosed. A 3D volume of scan data of a patient, which includes scan data of a bony anatomy of the patient, is provided. A first 2D view of scan data is generated from the 3D volume of the scan data, wherein the 2D view of scan data comprises a first a portion of the bony anatomy. First positional information for the virtual implant component is defining relative to the first 2D view. A second 2D view of scan data is generated from the 3D volume of scan data, wherein the second 2D view of scan data is provided from the 3D volume of scan data at an angle relative to the first 2D view of scan data and comprises a second portion of the bony anatomy. Second positional information for the virtual implant component is defined relative to the second 2D view of scan data. 3D positional information for the virtual implant component relative the 3D volume of scan data is provided based on the first positional information and the second positional information.

Method and system for planning implant component position

Methods for obtaining data and for manufacturing a dental component and a physical dental model of at least a part of a dental structure are provided which can improve processing times and provide sufficient manufacturing accuracy. An embodiment of the method can comprise obtaining a first data record for manufacturing the dental component and a second data record for manufacturing the physical dental model. The first data record can comprise data based on a portion of a digital dental model. The second data record can comprise data based on at least the portion of the digital dental model. In this regard, the data upon which the first and second data records are based can be obtained using first and second scanning resolutions in order to improve processing times and provide sufficient accuracy.

Method and apparatus for obtaining data for a dental component and a physical dental model

A model of at least a part of a dental structure, an articulator, and methods of manufacturing such devices are provided. The model and the articulator can be used to approximate the natural movements of a jaw of a patient to facilitate preparation of a dental restoration. The model can include the dental structure, an interface, and at least one void extending from a reference surface of the interface inwardly toward the void. The articulator can include upper and lower portions on which models of upper and lower dental structures can be held. The upper and lower portions of the articulator can be configured to generally maintain a vertical alignment while at least one gap formed between respective first and second alignment components thereof allows horizontal movability of the upper and lower portions relative to each other to test the interfit of the models therebetween.

Dental model, articulator and methods for production thereof

Methods are provided for computer-based planning of a dental restorative procedure of a patient having a craniooral space and/or of at least one dental component for the dental restorative procedure. Certain methods include determining a first spatial position of a first boundary surface, in the craniooral space, of a first dental unit of a dental restoration; determining a second spatial position of a second boundary surface, in the craniooral space remote the first boundary surface, of a second dental unit of the dental restoration; and determining a third spatial position of at least a portion of the at least one dental component relative at least one of the first and second spatial positions.

Method and system for dental planning

In a method and arrangement for allocating prosthetic installation work between at least three parties (A, B, C) a dental situation and fixture application are simulated on a computer screen by the first party. The second party produces first components in connection with the prosthetic installation with the aid of a recording and said simulation. Second components are supplied by the third party (C) and the prosthetic installation is assembled and fitted by the first party by means of said first and second components. The recording includes first and second readings of a loose prosthesis and a portion supporting the prosthetic insallation. The simulation includes collation of representations of the readings on a computer screen. Simulated fixture applications are constructed and a model is produced by one of said parties, or a fourth party. An assembly template guides hole-forming members in an actual substrate in directions which correspond to the directions of the fixtures. A dental bridge is provided with attachment holes which connect to the holes formed in the substrate. Fixtures are applied in said formed holes by the first party and the dental bridge is secured in or on said fixtures. The invention also relates to a computer program in connection with the above.

Method, arrangement and program for a prosthetic installation

A system comprises a computer appliance designed to receive, and to present on screen, first information transmitted from identification equipment and based on detection of a jaw bone structure. Modification information which can be introduced into the computer appliance shows a visual dental bridge structure applied on the jaw bone structure with associated teeth and dentine. Orientations for implants are also shown. The computer appliance produces a CAD file which is based on the first information and the modification information. The file is received in a stereolithography machine which issues second information which can be processed in the equipment for production of the physical template which includes through-bores for sleeves which define implant orientation. A working model is produced with the aid of the physical template. The invention also relates to an arrangement of a template produced by stereolithography and by means of information from the computer appliance.

System and arrangement for production and insertion of a dental bridge structure

A system for production of a dental crown () includes identification equipment (), modeling equipment (), ordering equipment (), and an automated production arrangement (). The latter, as a function of one or more first information items, is arranged to effect production, by means of pressing or pressure-casting, of an integrated dental crown which is made up of two layers. The first layer comprises or consists of porcelain material, and the second layer consists of aluminum oxide, zirconium oxide, etc. The second layer forms a cap, via which the dental crown can be applied to a tooth stump () of a patient (). The invention also relates to a dental replacement component consisting of the dental crown. It relates also to an arrangement used for a preliminary stage in production of a dental crown, which arrangement is characterized by a cylinder-shaped unit (puck) which is made of porcelain material and can be pressed against the cap under vacuum and at high pressure in order to form the first layer. The invention permits accelerated and efficient production of individual dental crowns.

An arrangement for producing at least a part of a dental product including an interface configured to receive and transmit ordering and manufacturing data from a plurality of users of different dental treatment systems. Ordering, manufacturing, and quality operating principles distinguish products from the different dental treatment systems to permit the arrangement to cooperate with the different dental treatment systems. At least one coordinating adapter unit receives and transmits ordering and manufacturing data from the different dental treatment systems. The at least one coordinating adapter unit identifies from which dental treatment system the ordering and manufacturing data comes and converts ordering and manufacturing data from at least one of the different dental treatment system to conform to another of the dental treatment systems. A communications network permits communication among elements of the system. Production units manufacture the dental product utilizing adapted manufacturing data.
