A method performed by a first IP multimedia system, IMS, node (), for handling a network function in a communication network. The first IMS node () requests a first core network node () for at least a part of contact information of a network function instance, and receives a response from the first core network node () with at least the part of the contact information for the network function instance. The first IMS node () communicates with a second IMS node () or a core network node over a service based interface, based on the received part of the contact information for the network function instance.

First IMS node, first core network node, second IMS node, and methods performed therein

A method, by a first node, for handling provision of an IMS service. A communications network comprises a first slice handling a first IMS service, and a second slice handling a second IMS service. The first node obtains, from a second node at least one of a first and a second indication. The first indication is of a first routing service instance for a third node handling the first service in the first slice. The second indication is of a second routing service instance for a fourth node handling the second service in the second slice. The first node routes a request, to one of the nodes with one of the proviso that when the request is for the first service, the routing is based on the first indication, and when the request is for the second service, the routing is based on the second indication.

Nodes and methods for handling provision of an IMS service in a communications network

A communication network allows an end user to dynamically select a user device among user devices associated with the user's subscription as the primary user device by defining a primary capability tag or attribute. Selection of a user device sets the primary capability tag of the selected user device, which is published towards an application server. The application server notifies all other user devices in the group of devices. If a previous user device in the group of user devices was set as the primary user device, then, in response to the notification, the previous user device performs a re-registration with the network removing the previous user device as the primary user device for the services associated with the user subscription. The selected user device also performs a re-registration/registration with the network so all incoming requests for services associated with the user subscription are sent to the selected user device.
