A lens element worn in front of an eye of a person includes a refraction area having a refractive power based on a prescription for the eye of the person, and a plurality of at least three optical elements, wherein the optical elements are configured so that along at least one section of the lens the mean sphere of optical elements increases from a point of the section towards the peripheral part of the section.

Lens element

A lens element intended to be worn in front of an eye of a wearer having at least a first and a second set of optical elements providing respectively a first and a second optical function. When worn by a wearer, an optical element of the first set is located at a greater distance from the center of rotation of the eye than an optical element of the second set. At least some of the optical elements of the first set and the second set are disposed in a mutual relationship in such a way that, for at least one gaze direction, a first and a second cumulative optical effect are provided at the same time for respective at least first and second incoming light beams.

A lens element intended to be worn in front of an eye of a wearer including at least a first and a second set of optical elements providing respectively a first and a second optical function. When worn by a wearer, an optical element of the first set is located at a greater distance from the center of rotation of the eye than an optical element of the second set. At least some optical elements of the second set are disposed with respect to the optical elements of the first set of the lens element to provide according to a respective first and a second gaze direction on different zones of the retina of the eye of the wearer distinct cumulative optical effects.

A method for characterizing optical elements of a lens element adapted for a person is presented, the lens element including: a holder including a refraction area having a refractive power based on a prescription for correcting an abnormal refraction of an eye of the person; and a plurality of optical elements configured so that at least one of slow down, retard or prevent a progress of the abnormal refraction of the eye of the person. A two-dimensional representation of the local optical power of the lens element is obtained using a fringe deflectometry method and the images used for the fringe deflectometry method consist of pixels smaller than or equal to 0.05 mm×0.05 mm.

Characterizing an optical element

An optical system intended to be worn in front of an eye of a wearer including an optical lens having at least a control point and an optical device that has a plurality of optical elements, the optical device being attached on a surface of the optical lens or encapsulated into the optical lens, wherein each optical element has simultaneously two different optical functions, and the optical device and the optical lens are configured so that the absolute value of the difference between a measured optical power at the control point of the optical system and the optical power corresponding to the prescription for said eye of the person is smaller than or equal to 0.12 diopter.

The invention relates to a lens element () intended to be worn by a wearer, comprising at least one prescription portion () having a first optical function configured to provide a dioptric correction of an eye of the wearer when the lens element () is worn by said wearer based on a prescription of the wearer, and a plurality of lenslets (), each lenslet () of said plurality of lenslets being configured to provide at least one second optical function which differs from the first optical function, wherein each lenslet () has a shape, a size and a position such that at least one portion of said lens element () has a modulation transfer function (MTF) whose values are configured so that the modulation transfer function of said lens elementover a range of spatial frequencies comprised between 1 and 5 cycles per degree are lower or equal to 0.6.

Lens element and corresponding computer-implemented determining method

A method is provided for determining an ophthalmic lens configured to correct an abnormal refraction of an eye of a wearer and including at least three optical elements disposed on a surface of the ophthalmic lens to suppress or reduce a progression of the abnormal refraction of the eye, the method including providing prescription data configured to correct the abnormal refraction; providing at least one abnormal refraction parameter relating to the abnormal refraction; providing at least one sensitivity parameter representing a variation of sensitivity of the wearer as a function of at least one parameter of the optical elements; determining a value of the at least one parameter of the optical elements configured for the wearer based on the abnormal refraction parameter and the sensitivity parameter; and determining the ophthalmic lens based at least on the provided prescription data and the value of the parameter of the optical elements.

Method for determining an ophthalmic lens adapted for correcting an abnormal refraction of an eye of a wearer

The present disclosure includes optical articles comprising a film layer that has first and second film surfaces and is embossed such that the first film surface defines a plurality of concave optical elements and the second film surface defines a plurality of convex optical elements. The present optical articles can include one or more optical layers coupled to the film layer. Each of the optical layer(s) can encapsulate the concave optical elements or the convex optical elements.

Optical articles having embossed films defining encapsulated microlenses and methods of making the same

A lens element intended to be worn in front of an eye of a wearer comprising: —a prescription portion configured to provide to the wearer in standard wearing conditions a first optical function based on the prescription of the wearer for correcting an abnormal refraction of said eye of the wearer, and—a plurality of contiguous optical elements, wherein each optical element has a simultaneously bifocal optical function that provides simultaneously: —a second optical function in standard wearing conditions and—a third optical function of not focusing an image on the retina of the eye in said standard wearing conditions so as to slow down the progression of the abnormal refraction of the eye.

The present disclosure includes optical articles comprising a lens having first and second lens surfaces and a protective layer having first and second protective surfaces that is coupled to the lens such that the first protective surface is disposed on the second lens surface. The optical article can comprise a plurality of convex or concave optical elements defined on the second lens surface or the first protective surface. The protective layer can have a maximum thickness larger than a maximum height of each of the optical elements such that the protective layer encapsulates the optical elements.

A method implemented by a computer for determining a single vision ophthalmic lens that is adapted to a wearer, the method including a wearer prescription data providing step during which wearer prescription data indicative at least of the prescribed optical power of the wearer are provided, a wearing data providing step during which wearing data indicative of the wearing parameters of the single vision ophthalmic lens by the wearer are provided, a single vision ophthalmic lens determining step during which the single vision ophthalmic lens is determined so that in wearing conditions corresponding to the wearing parameters, the single vision ophthalmic lens provides to the wearer the prescribed optical power in at least a first gazing direction when gazing at a first distance and second gazing direction when gazing at a second distance, wherein the first and second distances are different and the first and second gazing directions are different.
