An electric line cutter device for high voltage busbars has a two-part housing, a piston, an igniter and a busbar. The upper housing includes a cylinder, cuboid or prism chamber. The lower housing also includes a cylinder, cuboid or prism chamber. The piston is contained inside one of either the upper housing chamber or the lower housing chamber. Upon igniting the igniter, the piston breaks a portion of the busbar moving the piston and the portion of the busbar into the opposite chamber thereby stopping the electric current flow. The piston is at least partially formed as an insulator to prevent electric discharge. The piston design together with chamber design includes integrated 'squeeze areas' and 'blow channels' for the appearing arc. A channel system outside or from inside the piston allow the pyro gases to push the arc plasma into a filter system to cool down the gases.

High voltage electric line cutter device

An airbag cushion assembly () has an airbag cushion () and an inflator (). The airbag cushion has a plurality of inflatable chambers including a primary chamber () configured to receive inflation gas and one or more additional chambers () for receiving inflation gas from the primary chamber (). The inflator () is in communication with, or open to, the gas inlet of the primary chamber (). One or more of the additional chambers has one or more one-way gas flow check valves () for receiving inflation gases into the chamber and preventing the received gases from back flowing to maintain the one or more additional chambers at full inflation when the airbag cushion is inflated and loaded.

Line blocker

An electric fuse box or junction box assembly has a high voltage electric line cutter assembly inside an electric fuse box or junction box. The assembly has a box housing for connecting a plurality of electrical lines or connections to a power source. The housing has a pair of mounting stanchions for affixing the high voltage electric line cutter assembly with an electric current carrying busbar having a pair of stub ends. Each stub end of the busbar for carrying electric current from the power source to the plurality of electrical lines is secured to one of the mounting stanchions. Each mounting stanchion has an attachment platform for attaching and supporting the stub end of the busbar and an underlying chamber below the attachment platform for receiving exhaust gases generated when the high voltage electric line cutter assembly is activated.

A method of forming an airbag cushion (A) has the steps of providing placing the cushion in a vacuum bag () and evacuating the air shrinking the airbag cushion (A) to a compacted size; conforming the airbag cushion to a predetermined shape; placing the airbag cushion (A) in a high temperature environment between +50&#xb0; C. to +140&#xb0; for a predetermined time to thermally set the fabric material () to maintain the compacted airbag cushion (A) to the predetermined shape; and releasing the vacuum and removing the thermally set airbag cushion (A) from the vacuum bag ().

Method to manufacture airbag mini packs

A curtain airbag (A-F) for a vehicle () has an inflatable cushion. The cushion (A-F) has one or more side inflatable portions extending along one side of the interior of the vehicle () adjacent the interior door or doors on the one side and an inflatable frontal portion () projecting inwardly directionally toward the interior of the vehicle positioned in front of a seated occupant () and between the occupant () and an instrument panel or dash of the vehicle. Preferably, the inflatable frontal portion () is positioned between the occupant () and the steering wheel () wherein the frontal portion () laterally juts into the passenger compartment forming an inflatable barrier between a front pillar () of the vehicle () and the occupant ().

A side airbag cushion (A orB) has a front side panel (), a rear side panel (), a top panel () spaced between the upper edges of the front and rear side panels (), and a bottom panel () spaced between the lower edges of the front and rear side panels (). The top and bottom panels () are configured to create a contoured or concavity () shaped fully inflated side airbag cushion with a larger sized forward end () volume and with a smaller sized volume at the occupant mid-location () wherein the inflated airbag cushion fills the gap between the door trim () and the occupant ().

Shaped airbag

A device for anchoring a strap to a structural member has a strap and a strap anchoring member fixed to the strap at a first end of the strap. The strap anchoring member has a length and a width, wherein the length is greater than the width. The strap anchoring member is folded to provide only two layers of the strap anchoring member enclosing an end region of the strap adjacent a first end of the strap. A secured portion of the strap anchoring member is proximal the first end of the strap with both layers of the strap anchoring member fixed to the strap providing a three layer structure. An unsecured portion of the strap anchoring member is distal from the first end of the strap. A second end of the strap may be fixed to an airbag used for protecting an occupant of a motor vehicle. The positioning of the airbag when it is inflated can be achieved by having the strap extend through an aperture in a structural member of a motor vehicle with the strap anchoring device located on a side of the structural member distal from the airbag. The aperture has dimensions such that the unsecured portion of the strap anchoring member engages a surface of the structural member and impairs the passage of the strap anchoring device through the aperture toward the airbag.

An air bag assembly mounting system comprising: a fastener having a base plate with a front side and a rear side, a resilient expansion element along the rear side of the base plate which is configured to extend through an opening in a structural member of a vehicle so as to clamp the structural member of the vehicle and through a portion of an air bag or an air bag cover between the rear side of the base plate and the expansion element, the resilient expansion element comprising two co-acting resilient clips each having a center leg extending from the back plate and a resilient outer leg resiliently supported by the center leg; the outer leg, at a distal end, including extending wings which during assembly to the structural member rotate and over-travel the center leg to reduce the dimension between the wings of one of the outer legs and the wings of the other of the outer legs.

Air bag assembly and clip therefor

A fastener for fastening an airbag assembly to a structural member of a vehicle has an abutment element with a front side and a reverse side. An expansion element is arranged on the reverse side of the abutment element and is designed so as to clamp the structural member between the abutment element and the expansion element. The expansion element can be arranged on the structural member of the vehicle in a detachable manner and from the front side can be directly or indirectly detached from the structural member with the help of unlocking means.

Airbag assembly mounting system

An airbag module has at least a housing and an inflator. The inflator is pushed into a securing device on the housing in a longitudinal direction of the inflator. A first longitudinal end of the inflator abuts against an abutment on the housing. A securing element is inserted into the housing behind a second longitudinal end of the inflator and abuts against the second longitudinal end.

Airbag module

A side curtain airbag module is installed in a vehicle roof liner extending in a direction going between the front and rear of the vehicle. The side curtain airbag module has a gas supply device comprising a hose that is connected to a gas generator. The gas supply device extends in a longitudinal direction with respect to the module. A side curtain airbag is located laterally with respect to the gas supply device. The side curtain airbag is folded in a zigzag manner forming layers that extend essentially parallel to a direction in which the side curtain airbag is deployed when the side curtain airbag is inflated with gas. During deployment of the side curtain airbag the entire folded side curtain airbag packet is prevented from being ejected out of the side curtain airbag module at the beginning of the deployment process. An inflated side curtain airbag is provided as soon as the side curtain airbag is deployed into the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

Side curtain airbag module

An airbag arrangement comprising: an airbag; a housing ( ), formed of plastics material, for containing the airbag in a deflated, folded condition; a cover ( ), formed of flexible material, and attached to the airbag housing ( ) by a seal around a substantial portion of the periphery of the housing ( ). The seal may be by heat or pressure sensitive glue, by ultrasonic or vibration welding or by deformable lugs ( ). This arrangement is cheaper to produce and quicker to assemble, and has the advantage of being generally tamper-proof, since any tampering with the package will be immediately evident from detachment of the cover or tears therein.
