Component for a magnetic actuator as well as a method for its manufacture

A one-piece component includes a first subregion made of a base material, and a second subregion made of the base material as binder with intercalated hard material particles, the second subregion being injection-molded onto the first subregion by means of MIM injection molding, so that an integral connection is formed between the first subregion and the second subregion. Furthermore, a method for producing the one-piece component by means of MIM injection molding is described.

One-piece component and method for its production

A fuel injection valve for injecting fuel includes: a coil, an internal pole, a valve sleeve, and a magnetic separating element, where the valve sleeve and the magnetic separating element are embodied in one piece as a powder injection-molded component, and the valve sleeve forms a magnetic region and the magnetic separating element forms a non-magnetic region, which are intermaterially joined to one another.

In a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine fuel is delivered into a fuel rail by a high-pressure pump. The quantity of the delivered fuel is influenced by a quantity control valve operated by an electromagnetic operating device. At least one parameter of a braking pulse of the electromagnetic actuating device depends on an efficiency of the electromagnetic actuating device and/or on a supply voltage of a voltage source and/or on a temperature, in particular of a component of the fuel injection system or of the internal combustion engine.

Method for operating a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine

A solenoid armature for a solenoid actuator, including at least one magnetic region and at least one non-magnetic region, the solenoid armature being configured as a one-piece component having a first and second armature end face, the magnetic and non-magnetic regions being integrally bonded to each other by a two-component powder injection molding technique, and the magnetic region and the non-magnetic region extending in the axial direction at least as far as the first armature end face.

In a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine, fuel is delivered from a high-pressure pump into a fuel rail. The quantity of the delivered fuel is influenced by a quantity control valve which is activated by an electromagnetic actuating device. The level of control of the quantity control valve during the transition from the closed state to the open state of the quantity control valve is provided in the form of a sufficiently flat, descending progression which allows a robust control of the opening motion with regard to the varying specimen properties.

Method and device for controlling a quantity control valve

In a method for controlling a quantity control valve, at least two parameters characterizing the quantity control valve are utilized. A control signal supplied to the quantity control valve is defined by the at least two parameters. At least one parameter is ascertained based on the result of a first adaptation and a second adaptation, or based on the result of a first adaptation and the other parameter.

A fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine delivers fuel into a fuel rail via a high-pressure pump. The quantity of the delivered fuel is influenced by a quantity control valve operated by an electromagnetic operating device. A trigger signal supplied to the electromagnetic operating device is defined by at least two parameters, and a) in an adaptation method with the second parameter defined, at least one first parameter of the trigger signal supplied to the electromagnetic operating device is varied successively up to a final value at which a closing or opening of the quantity control valve is at least indirectly no longer or just barely detected, b) the first parameter is subsequently defined at least temporarily based on the final value, and c) the temporarily defined first parameter is adapted based on at least one prevailing operating variable of the fuel injection system or the second parameter is adapted based on at least one prevailing operating variable of the fuel injection system and of the temporarily defined first parameter.

The invention relates to a fuel pump for a fuel system of an internal combustion engine, having a housing and a housing cap joined to the housing. In order to create a fuel pump which in its operation generates little airborne sound, structure-borne sound (vibration amplitudes) and pulsations in a low-pressure region of the fuel pump, it is proposed that the housing cap has at least one damping element, which is embodied as a sandwich construction having at least a first cover layer, a second cover layer, and a damping connection layer disposed between them. The damping connection layer has a markedly higher elasticity and/or higher material damping than the two cover layers, which may be constructed of sheet metal or the housing cap itself.

Fuel pump for a fuel system of an internal combustion engine

A fuel system for an internal combustion engine includes at least one first fuel pump and a pressure region into which the fuel pump pumps and which communicates with an elastic volume reservoir. The elastic volume reservoir has a characteristic pressure/volume curve, which is defined by at least two points. It is proposed that a first point is defined by a first volume at a first pressure that is somewhat greater than a vapor pressure of the fuel at ambient temperature, and that a second point is defined by a second volume and a second pressure in the pressure region that corresponds to a maximum pressure; the difference between the first and second volumes corresponds at least approximately and at least to a value by which the volume of the fuel in the pressure region decreases upon cooling down from a maximum temperature to ambient temperature.

Fuel system, especially of the common rail type, for an internal combustion engine

A method for operating a fuel metering system of a motor vehicle is provided, in which fuel is delivered by at least one supply pump to at least one high pressure area, the fuel being injected by at least one fuel injector from the high pressure area directly into at least one combustion chamber, at least one sensor detecting the pressure in the high pressure area, and at least one pressure regulating element being provided for adjusting the pressure in the high pressure area.
