A wheel bearing assembly, preferably for trucks, includes a wheel adapter and a bearing unit, which has at least one first bearing ring and one second bearing ring, and a drive element. The wheel adapter is configured to connect the first bearing ring to a wheel, the first bearing ring preferably having at least one threaded bore to interact with at least one corresponding attachment means, preferably a screw, in order to connect the wheel adapter and the drive element to the first bearing ring. At least one rotation-securing element is provided that is configured to secure the connection between the wheel adapter and/or the drive element and/or the first bearing ring and/or the attachment means against rotation.

A rolling-element bearing cage includes a plurality of pockets each configured to receive a rolling element, and retaining elements associated with each of the plurality of pockets, each of the retaining elements being configured to secure the rolling elements against falling out of the pockets in a radially inward direction while permitting the rolling elements to be inserted into the pockets in a radially outward direction.

A transport-securing unit for retaining a plurality of rollers in a rolling-element bearing cage during transportation may include an annular region and a plurality of axially extending, circumferentially spaced projections extending from the annular region. Also, an assembly of the transport-securing unit, a rolling-element cage and a plurality of rollers in pockets of the rolling-element bearing cage, where the transport-securing unit is formed separately from the rolling-element bearing cage, and where the projections extend inside the cage and limit radially inward movement of the rollers relative to the cage.

A rolling-element bearing unit includes at least one outer ring, at least one inner ring, at least one cage, and a plurality of rolling elements between the outer ring and the inner ring and disposed in pockets of the cage. At least one auxiliary ring is disposed axially adjacent to the outer ring, and the cage includes connecting elements, such as radially outwardly extending lugs, for captively connecting the auxiliary ring to the cage.

Rolling-element bearing unit, cage, and installation method

A rolling-element bearing unit includes at least one outer ring, at least one inner ring, a plurality of rolling elements disposed between the at least one outer ring and the at least one inner ring that are in contact with the at least one outer ring and the at least one inner ring and at least one auxiliary ring attached to an axial end region of the outer ring. The auxiliary ring may include a seal assembly and may be connected to the at least one outer ring with a snap fit.

Rolling-element bearing unit and assembly method

A wheel bearing unit includes an outer ring and first and second inner rings and a plurality of rolling elements disposed between the inner and outer rings. At least one of the inner rings has an annular groove formed between an axially outer end of its radially outer surface a radially outer end of its outwardly facing axial end. A seal element such as an O-ring is mounted in the annular groove, and the O-ring is configured and mounted such that a first portion thereof extends axially outwardly of the first outwardly facing axial end and a second portion of the O-ring extends radially outwardly of the radially outer surface.

A rolling-element bearing unit for a wheel bearing assembly of a vehicle includes a rolling-element bearing with an outer ring, a an inner ring, a bearing interior between the outer ring and the inner ring and a plurality of rolling elements in the bearing interior. The inner ring has an inner ring surface facing the bearing interior and a first and a second axial end surface. A first seal assembly includes a retainer fixed on the bearing outer ring and a seal element configured to slidingly seal against the bearing inner ring surface or against a slip sleeve carried by the bearing inner ring. The retainer is an angle bracket having an axially extending annular leg and a radially inwardly extending annular flange, and radially inwardly extending flange projects radially inwardly beyond the bearing inner ring surface, for example, over a step in the first axial end surface.

Rolling-element bearing unit for wheel bearing assembly

A rolling-element bearing unit for a wheel bearing assembly of a vehicle includes a first rolling-element bearing having an outer bearing ring and an inner bearing ring and rolling elements disposed between the outer bearing ring and the inner bearing ring and a first seal element having a seal-element base body having a first support member mounted to an axial outer surface of the inner bearing ring and a first seal lip pressed against a radial end surface of the outer bearing ring to hold the outer bearing ring in position relative to the inner bearing ring. Also a wheel bearing assembly including two such rolling element bearing units.

Rolling-element bearing unit

A bearing unit configured to support a first component for rotary movement with respect to a second component includes a first bearing having an inner ring and an outer ring and a second bearing having an inner ring and an outer ring and a separator axially disposed between and connecting the outer ring of the first bearing and the outer ring of the second bearing in an interference fit manner or in a friction fit manner to form a preassembled unit. The separator may be annular and have a plastic base body with axial openings in which metal spacers, cylindrical rods, for example, are mounted.

A rolling-element bearing includes inner and outer rings, a cage with pockets disposed therebetween, and rolling elements respectively retained in the pockets. The cage has a guiding section extending along the axial length of the rolling elements. The distance between a radially-inner surface of the guiding section and the rotational axis of the bearing progressively decreases at least in sections along the axial direction of the rolling-element bearing from a point of the guiding section that is most distant from the rotational axis. A conveying section of the cage connects to that most-distant point and extends outside or away from the axial length of the rolling elements. The distance between a radially-inner surface of the conveying section and the rotational axis progressively decreases at least in sections in the axial direction away from the rolling elements. A lubricant collection channel is defined between the guiding section and the conveying section.

Rolling-element bearing

A bearing device includes a first bearing element and at least one second bearing element that is movably supported relative to the first bearing element and at least one seal unit that includes at least one attachment element that plays a role in attaching at least one seal element of the seal unit to the first bearing element. The attachment element includes at least a part of an antilock braking system (ABS) ring. The ABS ring may include through openings and be usable with a sensor that senses a magnetic field generated by the ABS ring.
