A system for transmitting a plurality of independent data signals between two modules connected to a communication link is provided. The communication link may be a two lead wired connection. A first data signal may be transmitted in form of a differential signal over the communication link. A second data signal may be transmitted between both connected modules by adding the second data signal identically to both leads of the communication link. The second data signal references a ground potential which is common to both connected modules.

Transmission of multiple independent signals over a communication link

The invention relates to a control system for at least two light tubes connected to a common transformer circuit. The control system comprises a control circuit which is provided with at least two detection inlets (a, a) used for detecting lamp currents (I, I) passing through the first and second light tubes, respectively. The detected lamp currents (I, I) can be regulated to a day mode with a high current intensity, and in a night mode with a low current intensity by the control circuit. The lamp currents (I, I) can be detected individually in day mode and in a common manner in night mode. The control system reduces instability of the tubes, in particular flicker.

A scalable and fully configurable computing architecture for a mobile multimedia architecture used in a vehicle includes a head unit having a processor, a field programmable gate array and a memory. The processor and the memory are configured to communicate over a first bus that is a dedicated memory bus, and the processor and the field programmable gate array are configured to communicate over a separate second bus. The field programmable gate array is configured to be loaded from memory with part of a multimedia vehicle-related application-specific functionality that is executable by the field programmable gate array, and the processor is cooperatively operable with the field programmable gate array to execute another portion of the multimedia vehicle-related application-specific functionality. The multimedia vehicle-related application-specific functionality in the field programmable gate array may be changed with software and downloaded to the field programmable gate array in the field. In addition, due to the first and second busses being recognized industry standard busses, any of the processor, the field programmable gate array and the memory are fully scaleable and configurable.

Scalable and configurable multimedia system for a vehicle

An electric motor system having a rotor with a plurality of permanent magnets, and a stator having a winding through which current is flowing for driving the rotor. A control unit controls the current flowing through the winding. The control unit employs a first filter and a second filter, each filter is connected to the winding and has outputs coupled to a comparator. The comparator compares the signal output of the first filter to the signal output of the second filter. The control unit controls the current flowing through the winding depending on the result of the comparison of the two filtered signals.
