The disclosure relates to a hearing system including a first hearing device configured to be worn at a first ear of a user and a second hearing device configured to be worn at a second ear of the user. The first hearing device includes a first physiological sensor configured to provide sensor data indicative of a physiological property of the user and the second hearing device includes a second physiological sensor configured to provide sensor data indicative of the same physiological property as the sensor data provided by the first physiological sensor. A processing unit may be configured to control the first and second physiological sensor to alternatingly provide the sensor data in subsequent time intervals.

An illustrative hearing device includes a battery having a battery voltage, a microphone for transducing sound into an input signal, a processor configured to be operated with an operating voltage and to generate an output signal from the input signal, a speaker for transducing the output signal to an acoustic signal, and a valve. An acoustic effect of the valve is adjustable by applying a valve voltage, wherein the adjustment is controllable by the processor. The hearing device comprises a voltage regulator configured to generate the operating voltage from the battery voltage, wherein the operating voltage is less than the battery voltage and wherein the valve voltage is greater than the operating voltage.

A handset device and an interface unit used to transmit at least one of a command signal and an audio signal to a hearing device by way of a wireless connection are disclosed. The handset device has an audio output and is configured to transmit a power signal configured to power the interface unit to the interface unit by way of a wired connection connecting the audio output of the handset device with an audio input of the interface unit. The handset device is also configured to transmit the command signal and/or the audio signal to the interface unit by way of the wired connection. In certain embodiments, the audio signal and at least one of the command signal and the power signal have pre-assigned and non-overlapping frequency ranges.

The present invention proposes a method and a computing system for deducing ink thickness variations from spectral reflectance measurements performed on a printing press or on a printer. The computed ink thickness variations enable controlling the ink deposition and therefore the color accuracy, both in the case of high-speed printing presses and of network printers. Ink thickness variations are expressed as ink thickness variation factors incorporated into a spectral prediction model. The method for computing ink thickness variations comprises both calibration and ink thickness variation computation steps. The calibration steps comprise the calculation of ink transmittances from measured reflectances and the computation of possibly wavelength-dependent ink thicknesses of solid superposed inks. Wavelength-dependent ink thicknesses account for the scattering behavior of non-transparent inks or of inks partly entering into the paper bulk. The ink thickness variation factors are fitted by minimizing a distance metric between the reflection spectrum predicted according to the thickness variation enhanced spectral prediction model and the measured reflection spectrum. The ink thickness variation enhanced spectral prediction model can be applied both in the visible wavelength range and in the near-infrared wavelength range. This enables computing unambiguously the thickness variations of the cyan, magenta, yellow and black inks. Furthermore, a spectral reflection may be measured over a stripe of a printed page and used to predict the ink thickness variations occurring within that stripe. This enables the real-time control of the ink deposition process on a printing press.

Ink thickness variations for the control of color printers

A process is provided for obtaining or refreshing the illustration of a printing form, preferably in wet-offset printing. Instead of clearing the illustration over the entire area, the printing form is acted on during the production. For this, a processing agent can act on the printing form in different areas for images. A processing agent preferably acts over the entire area of the printing form, in which case the layer of ink located on the printing form leads to a locally different intensity of the action, corresponding to the illustration of the printing form. Photocatalytic effects are preferably used. A hydrophilization of non-image areas is brought about by irradiation in the presence of water molecules. Since printing ink containing little water lies on the image areas, hydrophilization cannot occur on the image areas. Thus, in spite of the entire-area action on the printing form, an image-related refreshing or obtaining of the illustration is automatically achieved. A device is also provided for carrying out the process and a printing press with such a device, especially a wet-offset rotary printing press in the printing of newspaper print runs.

A wet offset printing form has atop layer containing a photocatalytically and thermally modifiable material. The material can be brought photocatalytically into a hydrophilic state by irradiation with light and into a lipophilic state by heating. The hydrophilic state forms a surface that can be illustrated and the lipophilic state forms an illustrated surface. The top layer of the wet offset printing form may contain absorption centers for irradiation, especially for laser radiation in the NIR range, with which heating of the top layer in the pattern of an image is brought about.

A process is provided for measuring the inking in web printing, wherein a measuring head or a plurality of measuring heads performs/perform an integrating measurement of the light remitted from a printed web of material in the direction of run of the web of material. A device is also provided for measuring the inking in web printing. The device includes at least one sensor element for receiving light, which is remitted by a running, printed web of material, an adding or integrating device, which is connected to a sensor element, of which there is at least one, in order to determine the intensity of the light received and a control, which presets the duration of reception of light and/or the duration of the addition or integration by means of the adding or integrating means for an adding or integrating intensity measurement of the remitted light in the direction of run of the web.

The present invention pertains to a lens system for a laser for illustrating a printing form with at least one spherical lens. The spherical lens may be arranged between the laser and the printing form, in order to bundle laser light emitted by the laser. At least one aspherical lens is arranged between the spherical lens and the printing form, for focusing or converging the laser light onto a desired spot. A process is also provided for illustrating a printing form. A laser for exposing an area element of predetermined width and height is operated continuously. The laser light generated by the laser is focused by the lens system according such that a strip (L) is generated which has a width that approximately corresponds to the width of the area element to be exposed. The strip has a height (H) that is smaller than the height of the area element to be exposed. A laser light strip (L) generated is led over the area element to be exposed such that the entire height of the area element to be exposed is swept by the strip.

A process is provided for a printing form for wet offset printing. A printing style is formed on an ink-transferring surface of the printing form ( ) by forming ink-absorbing and ink-repelling areas. For illustration, the ink-transferring surface is wetted with a moistening agent. The areas of the moistened surface that are to be made into ink-absorbing areas are dried in a specific manner, and a material that absorbs printing ink is uniformly applied to the ink-transferring surface with the still dry areas.
