A device for monitoring the efficiency of physical training in a human or animal includes a millimeter wave generator that generates millimeter wave radiation and a millimeter wave antenna that emits millimeter waves generated by the millimeter wave generator in a predetermined direction. The device includes a coupling element that couples the millimeter wave antenna to the millimeter wave generator and that transmits the millimeter wave radiation to the millimeter wave antenna. The device also includes a reference element that intermittently receives millimeter wave radiation from the millimeter wave antenna and a detector that detects millimeter wave radiation and produces a first data stream. The device further includes a processing unit that receives the first data stream and generates a signal indicating development of a body lactate level over time and an output device indicating the development of the body lactate level over time, to a user.

Device for monitoring and/or improving the efficiency of physical training

A radiometric imaging device and a corresponding method for scanning a scene. The device comprises a radiometer configured to detect radiation in a predetermined spectral range emitted from said scene and to generate a radiation signal from said detected radiation, and a processor configured to process said generated radiation signal by de-convoluting said generated radiation signal by use of a distance-dependent de-blur kernel, which is determined depending on the distance between said scene and the radiometer.

A receiving and transmitting node for a wireless data network, and a wireless data network based on magnetic induction. The receiving node includes an antenna receive module for receiving one or more data signals emitted from the transmitting node and a calculation module adapted to calculate one or more distances between the receiving node and the transmitting node, and/or adapted to calculate the position of the transmitting node in relation to the position of the receiving node, and/or adapted to calculate the orientation of the transmitting node in relation to the orientation of the receiving node. The reception of the data signal is based on magnetic induction and the calculation of the one or more distances, and the position of the transmitting node and/or the orientation of the transmitting node is based on the one or more data signals.

The audio system includes a relative location determination mechanism for determining the relative positions of at least all sound emitting components of the audio system with respect to each other, a personal device detector for detecting a personal device belonging to a user, a personal device position tracking mechanism for tracking the position of the personal device, and a re-calibration mechanism for re-calibrating the sound field such that the sweet spot of the sound field is placed at the current position of the personal device.

Dynamic sweet spot tracking

A handover method for a wireless mobile network including interconnected mobile nodes having time varying connectivity includes determining Quality of Service (QoS) resources of each potential routing path between a mobile node and a correspondent node. The method also includes pre-allocating the QoS resources along at least one potential routing path in advance before initiating a handover of a data flow to be transmitted from the mobile node to the correspondent node via a selected routing path. In addition, the method includes redirecting the data flow to a routing path with best available QoS capabilities as the selected routing path and, in case of sufficient QoS capabilities, reserving the determined QoS resources for the data flow to be transmitted via the selected routing path.

QoS-aware handover procedure for IP-based mobile ad-hoc network environments

A mechanism for a bidirectional reservation procedure within an in-band signaling mechanism gives symmetric real-time services running on mobile devices, which are used to support different access technologies in dynamic, mobile, wireless IP networks where the quality of the node connectivity can sometimes be unpredictably time-varying, the possibility to mutually reserve, monitor and adapt resources and service parameters for upstream and downstream direction along a communication path. The mechanism optimizes reservation mechanisms, especially for adaptive real-time services in wireless and wireless ad-hoc networks, by making use of a dynamic bidirectional reservation in-band signaling approach.

Bidirectional QoS reservation within an in-band signaling mechanism

In the field of Quality-of-Service (QoS) management for adaptive real-time services running on mobile devices which support different access technologies in dynamic wireless Internet Protocol (IP) networks, the connectivity of the applied nodes is unpredictable time-varying. In this context, a QoS management unit () is proposed that allows adaptive applications with real-time requirements in typical mobile wireless scenarios&#x2014;e.g. a radio link with a changing transmission quality and handover procedures ()&#x2014;to adaptively and responsively react to a time-varying network topology and different radio link characteristics. Said QoS management unit () provides methods of pre-allocating, reserving, monitoring and adapting QoS-related parameters in a dynamic mobile environment. The QoS management unit () comprises at least one analysis unit () which evaluates QoS requests received from other nodes () to inform the application unit () of said mobile terminal () about the current QoS situation, at least one processing unit () that manages request messages () for each type of QoS request, at least one monitoring unit () which monitors the current QoS situation within said mobile node () and initiates requests by activating the processing unit (), and at least one generation unit () which is responsible for generating QoS requests or passing them on to the QoS management units () of other nodes ().
