For mass production of anemometers for EGR systems with hot exhaust gas streams having temperatures up to 200&#xb0; C. or 300&#xb0; C., conductors and film resistors are placed onto a bed, and are covered on this bed, e.g. A sensor tip of the flow sensor of the anemometer is made of inorganic materials up to the housing cover. A cable is led into a housing and self-supporting electrical conductors are led through the housing cover. In the housing, leads of the cable are connected to the self-supporting electrical conductors. Using bed profiles passing through the cover, the film resistors are spaced from the housing sufficiently far that the film resistors and the housing are largely thermally decoupled. As an intermediate product, a measurement tip or a sensor bar as part of a sensor tip is made of purely inorganic components, in order to make the mass production efficient.

A temperature sensor, particularly a high-temperature sensor, is provided in which an MI line or a heat-decoupling wire is arranged between the measurement resistor (chip) and the supply-line cable. Springs are stuck on the strands of the MI line, whereby the contacting to the measurement resistor is realized, or the heat-decoupling wire is stretched on one side to the end facing the measurement resistor and is connected elastically on the other end to the supply-line cable.

A measurement device, particularly an anemometric measurement device, is provided for mounting in an exhaust-gas pipe, particularly an exhaust-gas recirculation pipe. The device includes a ceramic carrier embedded in an injection-molded housing made of plastic, with at least one film resistor mounted on the ceramic carrier on an end opposite the embedding. Electrical connections lead out from the film resistor to the embedded end of the ceramic carrier, and the electrical connections are passed through the injection molding, sealed and mounted within the injection-molded part. Additional components can be used for the sealing and mounting.

300&#xb0; C flow sensor

A flow sensor element and a method for self-cleaning of the flow sensor element are provided, in which a temperature-measuring element and a heating element are arranged on a carrier element, and these elements can form a multiple-part ceramic component. The temperature-measuring element has a platinum thin-film resistor on a ceramic substrate for the temperature measurement and is heated with an additional platinum thin-film resistor. A measurement device, in particular an anemometric measurement device of a flow sensor, contains film resistors mounted in at least one opening of a cover or a hollow body. Two of the film resistors have resistance values differing by one to three orders of magnitude. The anemometric measurement device has a temperature sensor and a heat output sensor set in a carrier element. The temperature sensor has a temperature-measuring resistor and a heat conductor, as platinum thin-film or thick-film resistors, on a ceramic substrate.

Flow sensor element and its self-cleaning

A flow sensor element is provided having at least one temperature-measuring element and at least one heating element each having at least one platinum thin film resistor, the at least one temperature-measuring element and the at least one heating element each being arranged on a carrier element which is formed from a ceramic foil laminate or a multi-part ceramic component. The carrier elements have electrical conductor paths and junction surfaces for electrically contacting the at least one temperature-measuring element and the at least one heating element. The at least one temperature-measuring element and the at least one heating element each have a metallic carrier foil with an electrically insulating coating, on which the platinum thin film resistors are arranged. The flow sensor element may be used for mass through-flow measurements of gaseous or liquid media in pipe ducts, for example in an exhaust gas pipe of an internal combustion engine.

Flow sensor element and method of using same

A sensor, especially a temperature sensor, has a measuring resistor () including a substrate with an electrically insulating surface and a resistor layer situated thereon, which is enclosed by a housing () having current lead-ins to a plug system () for connection leads or contact pins () in a region of the housing facing away from the measurement. The measuring resistor () is arranged in the region of an end () of the housing facing the measurement, and between the measuring resistor () and the contact pins () at least one spacing element () of electrically insulating material is provided with lateral recesses for guiding the electrical connection leads () which extend from the measuring resistor (). The temperature sensor can be simply adapted by variable configuration of the plug system and spacing element to various types of customer-specific requirements.

For detecting the temperature of a fluid, particularly a flowing liquid or gaseous medium, in the hollow space of a housing, a temperature-measuring element is provided that can be connected to an evaluation device via a plug arrangement and is arranged in a protective tube of a sensor housing, which is closed on one side, and with a connection piece firmly affixed thereto. The protective tube projects at least with its tip into an opening of the hollow space that is sealed off from the outside atmosphere using an elastic O-ring. The temperature-measuring element is arranged in the region of the tip of the protective tube on one end of a longitudinally extending circuit board and is connected via strip conductors to the plug arrangement that leads to the outside. The plug arrangement is surrounded by a screw sheath of the sensor housing, which is firmly connected to the protective tube and is provided with a threading that projects into the housing of the hollow space for the purpose of mounting.

For reduction of toxic components in exhaust gases of internal combustion engines, particularly of nitrogen oxides in motor vehicles, a portion of the exhaust gases, essentially operating as inert gases, are recirculated into the combustion chamber of the engine for the purpose of reducing the peak combustion temperature. In the air intake region the engine is fed an adjustable mixture of partially recirculated exhaust gas and air, wherein the mass of in-flowing air and the mass of exhaust gas recirculated from the engine following its cleaning and cooling are fed respectively to its own flow rate sensor. From the determined mass flow amounts of in-flowing air and recirculated exhaust gas, an actual value signal is formed and compared with a target value signal dependent upon the respective performance specification. A regulation deviation of the actual value signal leads to an adjustment signal, which intervenes into the exhaust gas recirculation for the purpose of adjusting the amount recirculated.

Device for exhaust gas recirculation into the air intake region of motor vehicle internal combustion engines

Process for exhaust gas recirculation into the air intake region of motor vehicle internal combustion engines and device therefor

A printed circuit board has a conductor path applied to a substrate having an electrically insulating surface, the conductor path preferably being constructed in the shape of a meander and containing connection areas with holes to which small contact plates are applied for the purpose of later bonding with connection leads. The small contact plates are applied in a hard soldering process with the aid of solder paste to the connection areas of the conductor paths and to the surface area of the substrate surface which is made of ceramic and exposed by the holes. It is consequently possible, dispensing with so-called bonding wires, to directly connect connection leads or bonding lugs electrically with the conductor path and mechanically with the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board is preferably designed as a measuring resistor, wherein the conductor path is applied as a resistance layer of platinum or platinum group metal in a thin film process to a small ceramic plate of aluminum oxide. The small contact plates are preferably made of nickel or a nickel-iron alloy, whereby a good stability results at high temperatures.

A sensor for temperature measurements has a temperature-dependent measuring element, which is arranged in one end of a quartz glass tube facing the measurement, wherein a connection line of the measuring element is guided to the outside through the other end of the quartz glass tube. The quartz glass tube is itself surrounded by a protective tube made of stainless steel, which is closed off at its end facing the measurement by a rotationally symmetric formed body, preferably a sphere made of stainless steel. A spacer made of electrically insulating material, preferably mica, is provided between the formed body or sphere and the measuring element.
