A patient couch is disclosed. In an embodiment, the patient couch includes a docking facility for mechanical docking on a docking point of a medical imaging installation; a drive unit including a plurality of wheels for a drive movement of the patient couch up to a docking position, where the docking facility reaches the docking point; at least one sensor, to acquire sensor signals characterizing a relative position between the medical imaging installation and the patient couch; a computing unit to calculate a movement trajectory with a destination of the docking position for the patient couch, based on the sensor signals acquired; and a display facility, to display the movement trajectory calculated for a user.

A medical device of an embodiment includes at least one movably mounted and motor-adjustable component; at least one drive unit for adjusting the at least one component; at least one motor control unit associated with the drive unit; and at least one sensing unit for sensing a position parameter dependent on the position of the at least one component. According to an embodiment of the invention, a safety function is integrated in the motor control unit. The safety function limits at least one operating parameter associated with the motion of the at least one component to be performed. An apparatus control unit controls the drive unit in dependence on the position parameter in accordance with the safety function. A stand is for a medical imaging system. In an embodiment, the stand includes an X-ray tube; a driver to adjust the X-ray tube in at least three spatial degrees of freedom; at least one environmental sensor to acquire at least one environmental parameter; and a controller to control an adjustment movement of the X-ray tube by generating control signals for the drive unit and to adapt the adjustment movement based on the at least one environmental parameter.

Collision-free X-ray tube movement

A method automatically determines a weight of a patient lying on a tabletop of a patient positioning device. A motorized movement of the tabletop along at least one predeterminable axis sets the tabletop in an oscillation via an elastic drive train element, and the patient's weight is determined from a determined oscillation frequency. Therefore, the weight of a patient lying on a patient positioning device can be determined in a simple manner.
