A process for operating a gas sensor (), which process includes a calibration of the gas sensor (). A test gas () is drawn in via a pump () coupled with the gas sensor (), whereby the test gas () is supplied to the gas sensor (). Different volume flows are generated by the pump () and respective volume flow-dependent measured values () are detected by the pump (). The volume flow-dependent measured values () are recorded together with the respective volume flow. A sensor control unit and a computer program functioning as a control program () are provided to implement the process.

Process for calibrating a gas sensor and for the subsequent use of the calibrated gas sensor

A method and system for testing a pumping device () with a control unit () in a gas-measuring system (). The pumping device () is tested with the control unit (), which is configured to test readiness of the pumping device () to operate. An initialization data set and an operating data set are used for the testing. An indicator of readiness of the pumping device () to operate is determined based on this.

A method for testing a gas sensor is based on a gas-measuring system with a test gas source and with a pumping device. A predefined quantity of a gas or of a gas mixture is fed in, from the test gas source, to the gas sensor over a predefined time and metered. The response of a measured signal of the gas sensor is determined as a sensor response. Characteristic variables, from which an indicator of the ability of the gas sensor to operate is determined, are determined from the sensor response.

A circuit with at least one catalytic measuring element (), in which the at least one catalytic measuring element () is connected to a supply voltage () without a protective resistor and without a thermal safety device arranged upstream. A process is provided for measuring a gas concentration with at least one thermal measuring element. The thermal measuring element is operated by pulses. A measured value of the gas concentration in the environment of the measuring element is obtained from the evaluation of the response of the measuring element to at least one single pulse by determining transient states of the thermal measuring element. From this the measured value of the gas concentration in the environment of the measuring element can be derived, during the imposed pulse based on electric measured variables.

Process for measuring the concentration of gases

A modular gas measuring system with a basic unit () with electric supply and data lines connected to it, a measuring unit (), which is equipped with a gas sensor and with a microprocessor and is connected to the basic unit () by means of snap closures to form a functional unit. At least one expansion module, is accommodated by the functional unit. The modular design, of optionally accommodating different expansion modules, so that the properties and the possible applications of the gas measuring system can be expanded in a simple manner.
