An audio signal processor for providing ambient signal channels on the basis of an input audio signal, is configured to extract an ambient signal on the basis of the input audio signal. The signal processor is configured to distribute the ambient signal to a plurality of ambient signal channels in dependence on positions or directions of sound sources within the input audio signal, wherein a number of ambient signal channels is larger than a number of channels of the input audio signal.

An active part of an electrical machine includes teeth, each having a tooth base, a tooth height, open or closed grooves between the teeth, and windings introduced into the grooves. Each winding encloses at least one of the teeth. The active part has a thickness, starting from the outer surface of the respective tooth bases and extending along the teeth, that is greater than the tooth height. The active part, starting from the respective tooth base up to a limit depth, which is not more than equal the tooth height, has a first material with a first magnetic permeability and starting from the limit depth a second material with a second magnetic permeability. An apparatus for measuring a plurality of loudspeakers arranged at different positions includes a generator of a test signal for a loudspeaker; a microphone device configured for receiving a plurality of different sound signals in response to one or more loudspeaker signals emitted by one of the loudspeakers in response to the test signal; a controller for controlling emissions of the loudspeaker signals by the loudspeakers and for handling the different sound signals so that a set of sound signals recorded by the microphone device is associated with each loudspeaker in response to the test signal; and an evaluator for evaluating the set of sound signals for each loudspeaker to determine at least one loudspeaker characteristic for each loudspeaker and for indicating a loudspeaker state using the at least one loudspeaker characteristic. This scheme allows automatic, efficient and accurate measurement of loudspeakers arranged in a three-dimensional configuration.

A radial magnetic bearing for magnetic bearing of a rotor has a stator which includes a magnetically conductive stator element, arranged circulating around a rotor. The stator element has recesses running in the axial direction of the stator element in which electrical lines from coils are arranged, wherein magnetic fields can be generated by the coils which hold the rotor suspended in an air gap arranged between the rotor and stator. A softer progression of the components of magnetic flow density in the radial direction is achieved by design measures on the transitions from one magnetic pole to the next magnetic pole, which results in a reduction of the eddy currents induced in the rotor.

In embodiments of the invention, a headrest of a vehicle seat or a speaker box which can be attached to the vehicle seat or to a headrest is described. The headrest or the speaker box may have at least one speaker integrated in the headrest or in the speaker box, wherein the speaker has a main sound emission direction and wherein the speaker is fixed in the headrest or in the speaker box in such a way that the main sound emission direction is inclined with respect to a backrest main direction of the backrest of the vehicle seat.

Embodiments disclose a vehicle which has a vehicle ceiling having a first sound wave reflection portion having a first sound wave reflection characteristic and a second portion having a second sound wave reflection characteristic, wherein the first sound wave reflection portion is more sound wave reflecting than the second sound wave reflection portion and at least one speaker arranged in the vehicle, so that a main sound emission direction is directed to the first sound wave reflection portion, so that a sound wave emitted by the speaker and reflected by the first sound wave reflection portion is perceptible as a diffuse sound by a person in the vehicle.
