For the miniaturization of an investigation instrument (), which includes a sensor (), which is arranged in the interior of a long shaft () and is electrically contact-connected by a connection (), it is provided that a flexible bending section () is configured on the connection (), and is thus connected with a contact-connection section (), which is contact-connected with contacts () of the sensor () on the reverse side such that, firstly, the entire connection () is arranged in the shadow of the image sensor () and, secondly, the bending section () originates from the contact-connection section () within a field () which is subtended by the reverse-side contacts () of the sensor ().

Investigation instrument

In order to reduce costs for endoscopic examinations and to enable new operating concepts, an image recording arrangement is provided in which an adapter that enables bi-directional communication between a camera control unit and an image generation unit which has an image sensor. A standardized data interface is configured between the camera control unit and the adapter. The adapter is defined for use with a specific type of image generation unit. Accordingly, the adapter has a communication apparatus which translates control and adjustment commands transmitted by the camera control unit into a format processable by the image generation unit and provides image data from the image sensor in a format processable by the camera control unit. The camera control unit can therefore access, control and adjust the image generation unit and can display image data from the image generation unit without adaptation to the image generation unit connected to the adapter and therefore without knowledge of said image generation unit.

An endoscope () with an endoscope shaft () in which an illumination device () and a rotatably mounted image sensor () are arranged in a distal region () is provided, and includes a handle () in which a rotatably mounted heat sink () is arranged, wherein the image sensor () is thermally connected to the heat sink (), for conjoint rotation therewith, via a heat transmission element ().

A medical instrument () designed in particular as an endoscope () has a main body () and, formed on the main body (), an electrical and/or electronic switching device () with at least one button () for actuating the switching device () and the medical instrument (). The switching device () is provided on its outside () with a cover (), which is integrally bonded to the main body () of the medical instrument () in order to produce a tight connection. Provision is further made that the cover () has at least one outwardly directed bulge (), on which the at least one button () of the switching device () is formed.

An endoscope is provided having a first beam path formed at least in a distal end region, a second beam path formed at the end region, which second beam path is arranged offset with respect to the first beam path for recording a stereoscopic image, and an image recording chip, which is configured for electronically recording images captured via the first beam path and the second beam path. A beam deflection device is provided having at least one deflection element arranged for displacement along a straight line adjustment travel path between a first position and a second position, and the beam deflection device, in the first position, guides an image captured using the first beam path to the image recording chip and, in the second position, guides an image captured using the second beam path to the image recording chip.

In the case of a camera module () including at least two camera functional units () arranged one behind another in a stack arrangement, it is provided to form the camera functional units () on a common main body (), wherein the camera functional units () are aligned with respect to one another in the use position by a folding or bending process.
