A speaker system may include at least two transducers arranged within an enclosure and horizontally aligned with one another; and a processor configured to apply at least one filter to the transducers to generate beamforming audio content, the processor configured to receive input channels and determine a desired filter impulse response at a first frequency point of the input channels. The processor may also be configured to determine a frequency response of the desired filter impulse response at a first angle, and generate a target function based on the frequency response for application at the first angle.

A digital signal processor is programmed to extract a center channel from a stereo input, apply the center channel to an array of speaker elements using a first set of finite impulse response filters and a first rotation matrix to generate a first beam of audio content at a target angle about the axis, apply a left channel of the stereo input to the array of speaker elements using a second set of finite impulse response filters and a second rotation matrix to generate a second beam of audio content at a first offset angle from the target angle about the axis, and apply a right channel of the stereo input to the array of speaker elements using a third set of finite impulse response filters and third rotation matrix to generate a third beam of audio content at a second offset angle from the target angle about the axis.

Low complexity multi-channel smart loudspeaker with voice control

A plurality of speakers are arranged within a listening space. An audio processor is configured to generate a plurality of sound zones within the listening space using the plurality of speakers. The audio processor is programmed to create zone audio signals to generate at least one bright zone in the plurality of sound zones, perform individual delay compensation to the zone audio signals to add additional delay to a subset of the plurality of speakers, the additional delay defined to adjust acoustical output from the subset of the plurality of speakers to match an amount of delay of a most-delayed speaker of the plurality of speakers to the plurality of sound zones, and transmit the zone audio signals to reproduce the at least one bright zone by the plurality of speakers.

Systems and methods for generating natural directional pinna cues for virtual sound source synthesis

Disclosed is a loudspeaker array with a multiplicity of array loudspeakers. The multiplicity of array loudspeakers is mounted in a surface of a rigid hemisphere that encloses an acoustic volume. The sound reproduction includes generating from a customized audio signal an acoustically isolated sound field at a position dependent on a sound field position control signal; providing a listening position signal representing a position of a listener and a listener identification signal representing the identity of the listener; and processing the listening position signal, the listener identification signal, and an audio signal. The sound reproduction further includes controlling, via the sound field position control signal, the position of the sound field dependent on the listening position signal so that the position of the sound field is at the position of the listener; and processing the audio signal according to an audio setting dependent on the identity of the listener to provide the customized audio signal.
