A one-piece brake carrier for a vehicle disc brake is provided. The brake carrier has a frame-like disc wrap-around element which has two mutually parallel bridge struts, and two frame sections arranged parallel to a brake disc rotation axis and connecting the bridge struts. The brake carrier further has a securing flange by which the brake carrier is fixable to an axle flange. One or both of the frame sections, starting from a side of the brake carrier away from the securing flange widens toward an outer edge of the securing flange.

A steering knuckle of a utility vehicle, composed of a cast material, has a main body, a steering knuckle bearing, a hub-type, cup-shaped receiving portion, open towards a rim of a vehicle wheel and suitable for receiving an anti-friction bearing and a bearing journal, and a pad-receiving portion for receiving a brake pad. The pad receiving portion has a support and two supporting elements provided one behind the other in the rotational direction of the vehicle wheel. A control arm attachment for linking an axle guide is formed on the main body.

A method adjusts the slack of a brake assembly having a brake disc, a brake pad, an actuator with an output shaft driven in a forward direction to bring the brake pad and brake disc into frictional engagement defining a braking position and a reverse direction to disengage the brake pad and brake disc and to move the brake pad into a rest position, and a slack adjuster for adjusting a predetermined axial slack distance between the brake pad and the brake disc. The brake pad is moved from the rest position in the reverse direction into a predetermined reference position, and an adjustment of the axial slack distance between the brake pad and brake disc is initiated.

A brake assembly includes a brake disc in rotational engagement with a wheel of a vehicle, a brake pad which frictionally engages the brake disc in a dynamic braking operation and a parking brake operation, a dynamic actuator adapted to bring the brake pad and brake disc into the frictional engagement in the dynamic braking operation, and a parking brake actuator associated with the dynamic actuator such that, in the parking brake operation, the frictional engagement of the brake disc and brake pad is maintained.

A securing device secures at least one signal cable to a pad retainer bracket of a disc brake, wherein the disc brake has a pad retainer bracket that is secured to a brake caliper of the disc brake spanning a brake disc. The signal cable is retained in the retainer, wherein the retainer is also interlockingly and/or frictionally retained on one side in a lateral region of the pad retainer bracket. The brake caliper can be reset by a resetting device along a wear adjustment path in an axial direction to the axis of rotation of the brake disc. With the same volume of the friction linings in the new condition, the friction lining thickness of the reaction-side brake lining is not the same as the friction lining thickness of the application-side brake lining ().

Floating-caliper disc brake

A disc brake includes a brake caliper that engages over a brake disc and is designed as a sliding caliper. The disc brake has two brake pads which are located in the brake caliper, can be moved in opposite directions and each of which has a pad backing plate with a friction lining secured thereon. An action-side or application-side brake pad of the two brake pads can be pressed against the brake disc by a brake application device with the aid of at least one brake plunger. The brake also includes at least one restoring device, by which the brake caliper can be returned after a displacement and release of the brakes caused by a braking action. The restoring device has a spreading device which engages on the brake pads lying opposite one another and which acts with an identical force in opposition to the respective application direction. The spreading device includes spring-loaded spreading elements, each engaging on its respective pad backing plate. The spreading device is located in the central opening and the spreading elements engage directly or indirectly, outside the friction linings, on at least two contact regions of the brake pads, the regions facing each other at a distance from the center. Each contact region has a contact surface and a support surface, on which surfaces the spreading elements are movably located.

Disc brake for a commercial vehicle and brake pad set

A resetting device by which a brake caliper can be reset after a braking-induced displacement and release of a brake. The resetting device has a spreading device which has resilient spreading elements. The spreading device is arranged in a central opening of the brake caliper. The spreading elements engage, outside the friction pads, directly or indirectly on one side at at least two abutment regions arranged spaced apart from one another relative to the center, of the brake pads, where the abutment regions have one abutment surface and one bearing surface on which the spreading elements are movably arranged. The spreading device has spring arms, of which in each case two lie against an associated pad carrier plate, where the spring arms are connected to one another in the central region of the opening. The spring arms are connected to a retaining bow which is attached to a brake carrier.

A disc brake for a utility vehicle is provided, having a sliding brake caliper which is fastened to a brake carrier and has a central opening above a brake disc. Two brake pads are acted on by at least one restoring device with resilient spreading elements which engage the brake pads and acts equally against the respective tightening direction. The spreading device is arranged in the central opening such that the spreading elements engage directly or indirectly outside the friction linings in the center region of the pad backing plates or at at least two contact regions of the brake pads arranged at a distance from each other with respect to the center. The contact regions each have a contact surface and a bearing surface, on which the spreading elements are movably arranged. The invention further relates to a corresponding brake pad set.

A disk brake for a vehicle, in particular for a utility vehicle, is provided. The disk brake includes a brake disk, a brake caliper with application and back sections, brake pads having pad back plates with a pad-retaining spring supported under preload by a pad-retaining clip on the brake caliper, and a securing device releasably securing the pad-retaining clip via the pad back plate of the back-side brake pad. The securing device has at least one clip element and at least one retainer. In an installed state, at least one section of the at least one clip element is in engagement with at least one section of the retainer. During installation/removal of the pad-retaining clip, the at least one clip element section can be moved against a spring force. A corresponding brake pad set is provided.

A disk brake for a utility vehicle is provided. A brake caliper of the disk brake includes a receiving chamber configured to receive a brake application device with a pivotable brake lever. The brake lever is supported at one end on a bridge supporting at least one brake piston and at the other end on a wall of the brake caliper forming a caliper head. A pivot bearing is provided for supporting the brake lever on the caliper head or the bridge. The pivot bearing includes a receptacle having a circular-arc-shaped cross-section and has a pivoting body configured to be located in the receptacle. The brake lever is retained in such a way that the brake lever is secured against displacement transversely to the pivoting direction of the brake lever by at least one securing element arranged in the region of the pivoting body extending axially on both sides of the securing element. The securing element protrudes radially in relation to the pivoting body at least in some regions and engages in a slot of the caliper head or of the bridge having a circular arc shape in the pivoting direction of the brake lever.

A disc brake for a utility vehicle has a brake caliper engaging over a brake disc, at least one application device for applying the disc brake by way of a displaceably guided bridge, which bridge has at least one threaded hole, into which an actuating spindle passing through a closure plate connected to the brake caliper and provided with an external thread is screwed. The spindle bears a pressure piece which can be rotated relative thereto, by which pressure piece a brake pad can be pressed against the brake disc. A readjusting device is operatively connected to the actuating spindle for readjusting a clearance. A securing ring is provided, which is held on the bridge so as to be secured axially and against rotation and which, in an end position of the actuating spindle screwed in counter to the actuating direction, in order to secure the actuating spindle against rotation, engages with a form fit in a thread-free end region of the actuating spindle which is assigned to the pressure piece.

A disc brake, preferably actuated by compressed air, for a motor vehicle, has a brake caliper which has a brake application section with a brake application device with a rotary brake lever, at least one wear adjusting device for adjusting wear of brake pads, and a brake disc with a synchronization unit which includes an adjusting device, a drive device and a synchronizer. The adjusting device and the drive unit are inserted in each case into a threaded plunger of a spindle unit and are attached by way of a mounting arrangement on a bearing wall of the brake application section of the brake caliper. The synchronization unit is installed with the adjusting device and the drive device as a preassembled group into the brake application section of the brake caliper, wherein the synchronizer is arranged in the region of the mounting arrangements on the bearing wall within the brake application section. A method for installing a synchronization unit is provided.
