A purification device for water has a housing with a longitudinal axis, an upper and a lower end and a substantially round cross section. The device includes a first receptacle, arranged parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing, for a first purification medium, and a second receptacle, which is also arranged parallel to the longitudinal axis of the housing, for a second purification medium. Electro-deionization control system

A pipette has a first chamber and a second chamber that connects to the first chamber and extends with an outlet channel to a pipette tip. The chambers are separated from one another by a longitudinally displaceable piston having a piston non-return valve. The second chamber has a chamber non-return valve which is arranged upstream of the outlet channel. An associated method includes recirculating the liquid in the first chamber, filling the first chamber with the liquid via a direct feed line, filling the second chamber with the liquid from the first chamber by pulling back the piston in the filling position toward the first chamber with the piston non-return valve open and with the chamber non-return valve closed, and emptying the second chamber by advancing the piston in the emptying position towards the outlet channel, with the piston non-return valve closed and the chamber non-return valve open.

Pipette and method for pipetting

A device for degassing aqueous media has a first container containing medium to be degassed. A first line connects the first container to a degassing module and a second line connects the degassing module to a second container for receiving the degassed medium. A first non-return valve in the first line prevents backflow from the degassing module to the first container. A hydrophilic membrane in the second line prevents the passage of gas, and a branch between the degassing module and the hydrophilic membrane has a hydrophobic degassing filter for letting out gas. A third line is connected to the first line between the first container and the first non-return valve and to the second line between the second container and the hydrophilic membrane. A second non-return valve in the third line between the first non-return valve and the hydrophilic membrane prevents a flow towards the second container.

Device and method for degassing aqueous media

The invention relates to a crossflow-filtration method for beverages, in particular beer, which comprises the following steps: a) the feed liquid is introduced into a filter module by means of a tangential flow through a filter membrane () in a first direction, whereby the filtrate flow on the filtrate side () of the filter module is maintained within predetermined threshold values; b) the entry pressure is reduced and the filter is backflushed by surges of filtrate initiated by a reversal of the flow direction transversally to the membrane; c) the feed liquid is optionally introduced in an inverse flow direction to that of step a) and the concentrate is evacuated on the non-filtrate () side of the module; d) the entry pressure is reduced and the filter is backflushed by surges of filtrate initiated by a reversal of the flow direction transversally to the membrane; e) steps a) to d) are repeated until the filtrate flow lies below the lower predetermined threshold value; f) to k) the filter is emptied by applying pressure, backflushed, rinsed and l) steps a) to k) are resumed.
