A description is given of a method of making film laminates using a lamination adhesive comprising (a) at least one acrylic polymer A with anhydride groups which are reactive with primary or secondary amine groups; and (b) at least one compound B with at least two amine groups selected from primary and secondary amine groups. The acrylic polymer A has a molecular weight of from 3000 to 50000 and the lamination adhesive is free of organic solvents, free of water and free of compounds with isocyanate groups.

A description is given of a pressure-sensitive adhesive dispersion comprising a water-dispersed polymer P1 formed by emulsion polymerization. The polymer P1 is formed from a monomer mixture comprising (a) at least 40% by weight of C4 to C20 alkyl (meth)acrylates which when polymerized as homopolymers have a glass transition temperature of &#x2212;30&#xb0; C. or less, (b) at least 0.05% by weight of (meth)acrylate monomers having a substituent of the formula where X is CH, O, NH or NR and R is a C1 to C4 alkyl group, (c) at least 0.1% by weight of acid monomers. The monomer mixture comprises alternatively at least 0.05% by weight of glycidyl (meth)acrylate and/or the pressure-sensitive adhesive dispersion comprises at least one further polymer P2 which contains glycidyl groups.

Pressure-sensitive adhesive dispersion comprising polymers with ureido groups or ureido-analogous groups and with glycidyl groups

The present invention relates to aqueous polymer dispersions having a polymer content of at least 55% by weight that are suitable for pressure sensitive adhesives. The invention also relates to a process for preparing these aqueous polymer dispersions and also to the use of the aqueous polymer dispersions in pressure sensitive adhesives and, respectively, pressure sensitive adhesive compositions, especially in pressure sensitive adhesives for transparent substrates, such as plastics labels. The aqueous polymer dispersions have a polymer content of at least 55% by weight, based on the total weight of the dispersion, the polymer being composed of ethylenically unsaturated monomers M and having a glass transition temperature below &#x2212;10&#xb0; C., in which the dispersed polymer particles have a polymodal particle size distribution, in which at least 70% by weight have a particle diameter of below 350 nm.

Process for preparing aqueous polymer dispersions for adhesives

Described is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) polymer formed from (i) 50%-95% by weight of n-butyl acrylate, (ii) 1%-20% by weight of ethyl acrylate, (iii) 1%-20% by weight of vinyl acetate, (iv) 0.1%-5% by weight of at least one ethylenically unsaturated acid or ethylenically unsaturated acid anhydride, and (v) 0% to 30% by weight of other ethylenically unsaturated compounds different from the monomers (i) to (iv). The PSA polymer can be used for producing self-adhesive articles, more particularly paper labels or film labels.
